B. THEME AND STRUCTURE

EVENING EMOTION

There are afternoons when one wishes

to embark and depart without a certain course,

and silently, from some port

walking away as the day dies

Embark on a long journey

and then get lost in a desert
and the mysterious undiscovered sea
by no navigator yet.
Even if one knows that even the remote
confines of the unknown seas
the procession of his sorrows will follow him.

And when the mirage fades away,

from the glaucous waves of the abyss,
they will be tempted by the last sirens.

It consists of two stanzas of four lines each called quartets as they are
eleven-syllable verses

to embark and set off without a certain destination,

In addition, the last two stanzas are composed of three verses each like the ones that
they are called tercets.

Even if one knows that even the remote

confines of the unknown seas
the procession of his sorrows will follow him.

And as the mirage fades away,

from the glaucous waves of the abyss,
the last sirens will tempt them.

The verses are of greater art, the same that consists of the same number of syllables with the help
of the metric licenses like this poem, the sinalefa plays a fundamental role since the
the author makes significant use of this.

As in the case of the first paragraph, line number 1 rhymes with line number 4,
belonging to an assonant rhyme since only the vowel sounds are repeated.

I would wish – day

Verse #2 with #3 has a consonant rhyme since all sounds are repeated from
from the last accented vowel
certain-port

In this stanza, the rhyme scheme is ABBA.

This stanza consists of eleven-syllable verses without the use of any metric license or the
use of the accent in the last word. The rhyme of this stanza is the same as that of the first.

The rhyme scheme would be ABBA

2.-Internal Analysis

The phrase that expresses the lyrical self is even if one knows that even the remote confines of the
unknown plains will follow the procession of their sorrows, what the author expresses with feeling is
Whatever I do, wherever I go, I will always remember the sorrows, the same ones that...
they influence him.

In the last stanza, the author expresses how he is about to give up and be consumed by the
abyss, since at the moment he mentions that the last sirens will tempt him, it means
what has been previously mentioned is the moment to make the decision to fall or
to get up
3.- Relationship of the title with the content

The title is somehow related since what it expresses in its content is connected.
with the emotion and when referring to 'Vesperal' it refers to something that comes before to give
as a consequence of something, as in the poem when it expresses the desire to embark and depart
adrift this results in drifting away while the day dies.

The tone is sad and melancholic as it reflects the solitude experienced in this poem.
passing and the wishes of no longer wanting to live.

The reasons are intangible as the author expresses the disorientation, which conveys the
feelings.

C. LITERARY STYLE THE TEXT

The writer in this poem has a sober language, at the same time it is serious and it is what
characterizes the poem since it is through this that the poem takes on the magnitude of the
emotions that the author feels, in addition the use of adjectives is what characterizes each
action of the poem.

1.- Stylistic analysis

The style is direct as it uses the first person, the phonic level is present as the verses consist of
of rhyme and this gives it a rhythm, the morphosyntactic level is another of the aspects that
they are well defined in the poem since the use of adjectives is very important, the level

D. EVALUATION OF THE TEXT

1.-Conclusion/ Critical Judgment - Personal Evaluation

Ernesto Noboa perhaps, belonging to an affluent family, saw as a boy the

needs and suffering were reflected in him, in this poem what is reflected is loneliness
that perhaps she feels at every sunset, where she feels that nothing makes sense and no matter what she does, it doesn't matter

You can remove from your life the reasons that cause your suffering.

This poem reflects the feelings and thoughts that a person can have in
difficult moments where one does not find a solution and lets themselves be carried away by what
they feel, and in this way giving up, this poem despite the time in which it was
Written, there are still aspects that reflect different situations of the present, where many
people fall into depression and make extreme decisions.
