REPORT:

INTRODUCTION:

As requested, this is a report regarding the subject of undervalued and less-known

places in Spain.

DEPICTION OF THE PLACE:

Fanzara is a village nearby Castellón which could be consider a small natural paradise.

In addition, it has a population of around 300 inhabitants. What makes this village

extraordinary is the MIAU -which means Unfinished Urban Art Museum in Spanish- a

project risen by two young inhabitants of the village who wanted to help the village to

get its magic back. Nowadays, it is not only the greatest source of income for the town

but is also environmentally friendly.

In this museum there are no doors nor tickets, just facades, neighbours and artists. So,

this is what makes it special and peculiar.

SIGNIFICANCE:

Bearing in mind that Spain is a country which suffers from the fact that many small

villages are disappearing because of the lack of essential services for its elderly

residents, the history of Fanzara is inspiring as they have found a way of reinventing

how to attract tourists in order to avoid sinking into oblivion. The fact of creating such

an innovative way of tourism should be used as a model to be followed by all those

towns that are in danger of extinction.

SUGGESTIONS:
After having discussed about this wonderful place I would highly recommend going and

visiting it with family, friends or even alone as it is worth it. From my personal

experience, this type of art is stunning and appreciable. Moreover, people there are

friendly and eager to see how tourists, both local and foreign, appreciate and see what

they have worked so hard to achieve.
