BLOOD DONATION CAMP

ORGANISED BY NSS

Date: 16/08/2025
Time: 9am to 1pm
Venue: PDEU

The National Service Scheme (NSS) successfully organised a Blood Donation

Camp in collaboration with abc hospital / blood bank.

Objectives:
➔ To encourage students and others to participate in saving lives.
➔ To spread awareness regarding the need for blood donation.
➔ To develop character, compassion and social responsibilities among
NSS volunteers.

Preparation and execution of the event involved several steps:

➢ An official meeting was held with the hospital regarding date, venue,
equipment, space, medical staff, etc.
➢ NSS members were informed of their responsibilities such as
registration process for donors, setting up the camp, coordinating with
medical staff, arranging refreshments and promoting the event.
➢ Several posters about the blood donation camp were put up across the
campus. It was announced on social media and inviting potential
donors. Creative reels were posted to engage and inspire more people.
➢ Each donor underwent a basic medical check-up, including hemoglobin
and blood pressure testing before donation. Strict safety and hygiene
protocols were followed. NSS volunteers managed the crowd, gave out
refreshments and ensured the smooth flow of the event.
➢ Emergency first aid kits were available.
➢ Donors were provided with a certificate recognising their contribution
for this good cause. 30 units of blood were collected. Around 60 people
participated, all giving positive feedback and willingness to donate
again.

The blood donation camp was a huge success. We extend gratitude for the
support of medical professionals, dedication of the volunteers and generosity
of the donors. The event reflected our motto “Not me, but you”. It was a
valuable learning experience and contributed to the well being of the society.
Selfless service is a vital thing for students to learn. NSS plans to organise
such camps regularly to continue fulfilling our social responsibilities.

Sincerely,
Dhruvi Patel
