UNITS: MESSIER-DOWTY LANDING GEARS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT
SUBJECT: LANDING GEAR - NEW WARRANTY CLAIMS PROCESS
1. REASON
A. Messier-Dowty advises you that a new warranty claim template is now available for use and
this Service Letter is issued to clarify the data and documentation requirements for a valid
warranty claim. The claims process applies for defective and faulty product hardware
(components and tooling) but should not be used in cases where you may have a
documentation query for which direct contact should be made to your regional TASSC
support centre to provide a resolution.
2. GENERAL
A. To improve the service to the Customers, this Service Letter introduces a proforma
(Appendix A) that must be used to ensure all necessary data capture when components are
returned to Messier-Dowty for all warranty claims. In addition to the completed proforma, the
following supporting documentation must be provided in order to validate a claim:
- the relevant back-to-birth maintenance traceability sheet where applicable (for hard
life components as defined in the relevant airframer documentation)
- the original EASA Form1 where the part has been supplied as a spare.
B. PROCEDURE
Contact your regional Technical Assistance and Spares Support Center (TASSC) to discuss
your intent and agree the correct plan of action for your problem.
E-mail or Fax a copy of the proforma (Appendix A, page 2) to the Technical Manager at the
Technical Assistance and Spares Support Centers (TASSC)
The Technical Assistance and Spares Support Centers (TASSC) will acknowledge receipt of
the completed proforma (Appendix A, page 2) and associated information by returning a
copy of the proforma (Appendix A, page 2) to the customer. The returned copy of the
proforma (Appendix A, pages 2) will indicate date received by the regional Technical
Assistance and Spares Support Centers (TASSC).
After the above is completed and the correct return address is identified, return of
components for warranty claims can be actioned and shipped to one of the following
addresses as indicated in your previous correspondences with TASSC:
