1. Problem Understanding and Overview Problem Summary:

There is a growing need for a fast, effective, and verifiable want to gain targeted skills.
Traditional courses are long and often lack immediate proof of learning. Learners require a
platform that delivers short, skill-focused lessons, interactive quizzes, and instant verifiable
micro-certificates to showcase their achievements.

Business Goals:

* Enable rapid skill acquisition for students and professionals.

* Provide instant recognition through micro-certificates.

* Increase learner engagement via gamification and personalized

* recommendations.

* Support continuous addition and management of content.

Objectives:

* Deliver bite-sized lessons in video, text, or interactive formats.

* Auto-grade quizzes tied to each lesson.

* Generate verifiable micro-certificates instantly.

* Provide learner dashboards for progress tracking and analytics.


2. Proposed Solution

2.1 Solution Overview:

* The Micro-Certification Learning Platform is a web application

* built on Oracle APEX and Oracle Autonomous

Database hosted on

* OCI. It offers lesson modules, quizzes, autogenerated certificates,

* learner/admin dashboards, gamification, and AIpowered recommendations, all with a


mobile-first responsive design.

2.2 Step-by-Step Approach:

* Design Oracle Autonomous Database tables for users,

* lessons, quizzes, results, progress, and certificates.

* Upload sample lessons, quizzes, and media into the database.

* Build lesson pages in Oracle APEX with multimedia support.

* Implement quiz pages with PL/SQL auto-grading logic.

* Integrate certificate generation with APEX PDF & QR plugins.

* Create learner dashboards (progress, streaks, badges, recommendations).

* Develop an admin dashboard for content and user management.

* Add gamification with badges, streaks, and leaderboards.

2.3 Data and Input Sources:

* Lesson metadata: titles, descriptions, and media links uploaded by admins.

* Quiz question banks and answers stored in Oracle Autonomous Database.

* Learner activity logs, quiz scores, and certificate data.

We built a Micro-Certification Learning Platform using Oracle APEX, OCI, and Oracle
Autonomous Database to deliver fast, skill-specific learning with verifiable proof of
achievement. The solution benefits learners through quick, recognized upskilling and
benefits institutions by enhancing reach, credibility, and engagement. Oracle’s ecosystem
ensures scalability, security, and performance, making it an ideal choice for rapid, secure,
and future-ready web app development.
