PRECIS :
The value of a man’s life is measured not only by the number of years he had lived but also by the
number of good deeds he has done. A man may live a long life without doing any great or noble deeds
that may benefit the world. Such a life is useless and the man is soon forgotten as soon as he dies. But a
man who does noble work for the benefit of mankind lives in the memory of the people even long after
his death, though he may live a short life. The great men like Christ, Sankaracharya and Vivekananda
died young, but they are still remembered with great reverence on account of their noble deeds. We
should therefore, devote our precious days for the performance of noble deeds as far as possible.
Immortaliy in noble deeds

The boy was sitting under/beneath the tree. The sky was overcast with clouds. The wind was blowing
speedily/strongly. It was drizzling with it. I stood behind him. He could not understand it/realize my
coming. It seemed that he was thinking something. I put my hand on his shoulder. Then he looked at

The earth is a beautiful planet. Nature is losing its balance for our ignorance and greed. There are fewer
trees now in the forests. Many animals and birds are on their way to extinction. There is great scarcity of
fresh air and clean water. Global warming is a panic/fear to mankind. Now in spring, the cuckoo does
not sing. Actually the features of the seasons are changing. There is great need of tree plantation. We all
will have to come forward to save this earth. We all want greener and cleaner earth where our next
generation will live with no tension/with no worry/securely.
