COMMENTS
Alkaline pH in strong hard surfaces cleaners is needed to ensure complete fatty dirt and soil
saponification.
Surfactants have to be stable at this high pH. Also amine oxides can be used is more foam is
required.
Gluconic acid can be substituted by sodium gluconate.
COMPONENTS
BETADET S-20 (Lauryl Hydroxysultaine, 38% a.m.): amphoteric character. Foaming and detergent surfactant. It
improves the stability of the formula at extreme pH’s and at low temperature. Good water hardness stability. Very mild
surfactant It decreases the irritation of anionic surfactants on the skin. Additional thickening effect.
Gluconic acid : used in high alkaline preparations to avoid iron rust from metallic surfaces. Its salts can be also used for
the same application.
