Food
La Zucca — arguably our best meal in
Venice. traditional Venetian dishes in an
intimate setting. not outrageously
expensive and be sure to make a
reservation
Places Al Covino — if La Zucca wasn’t our best
meal, then this place was. incredible
Ponte Chiodo — one of the oldest bridges flavors by a chef who is passionate about
in the city that shows it’s age (no his work
guardrails)
Bar All'Arco — a popular spot for cicchetti
Bar Cà Pesaro — this is a cafe hidden in a (a popular local dish — think small bites).
museum. you don’t need to pay for the there will be a line… it’s worth the wait.
museum to access the cafe. make sure to this is not a sit-down spot. it’s a lively
sit outside for great views of the water. bar-like atmosphere :)
the coffee is average… it’s the views
you’re paying for Pizzeria Da Zorma — a small pizza joint in
a local area of town. they serve pizza at
Rialto Market — the best fresh food an affordable price and are best enjoyed
market in town as takeaway (eat on the canals)
Squero di San Trovaso — a spot where Dama — a fancier restaurant that wasn’t
you can watch gondolas be packed with people. good flavors and a
built/repaired. where else can you find beautiful setting. wouldn’t be my top
that? option but not a bad one either
Basilica Santa Maria della Salute — it’s Vino Vero — a wine bar in a local area of
another very impressive church (free) town. another great spot for cicchetti
Teatro La Fenice — stunningly beautiful Gelateria Gallonetto — solid gelato
theater that is worth a visit
Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo — beautiful
architecture (big spiral tower) and can be
visited for free
Parco delle Rimembranze — a park that
most tourists miss. away from the crowds
and a lovely place to take a walk
Fondamenta de la Misericordia — a local
street away from most of the tourists.
great area to wander :)
Bar
Murano Glass — a glass factory where you
can watch the glass blowers in live time. II Mercante — i don’t normally drink… but
completely free and a unique experience this place convinced me. creative
cocktails in an intimate setting
sotoportego de la corte nova — don’t go
out of your way for this… but if you’re in
the area, it’s a beautiful little spot
A spot — i don’t know how to describe
this other than a spot we enjoyed. on the
water and a beautiful spot at night
Libreria Acqua Alta — i’m putting this
book store on the list as a PSA… it’s 100%
for instagram. not saying you shouldn’t
go, but don’t expect to be able to browse
the books. it’s for tourists
