2. Scope, Introduction and Background of the Project
A. Scope of the Project:
Social media networking is a more practical approach for dealing with the consumers. It may be for improving the products listening to the customers views with critical appreciations. It may also help improving the ways of dealing with buyers using them as ears and the eye of the organizations. All the big companies are quite optimistic about the positive impact of Social media networking and gone into developing fully integrated processed with a holistic touch. Take the example of activities the companies like IBM, Microsoft and Google performs to strengthen their networking platforms via social networks like Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn.
B.
Introduction:
LinkedIn is a professionally focused social networking service that connects business professionals with their colleagues, clients, suppliers and others. It is a place for people of similar and different backgrounds to connect, problem solve and find employment. It also serves as a fantastic forum for making new connections.
B1. Literature Review:
(Detailed summary of what all has been done internationally in the proposed area quoting references and bibliography. Please note that this section demonstrates the depth of knowledge of the project team and builds the confidence of the evaluators about capability of the team in achieving the stated objectives.) Purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people with whom they have some level of relationship, called Connections. Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not) to become a connection. However, if the invitee selects "I don't know" or "Spam", this counts against the inviter. If the inviter gets too many of such responses, the account may be restricted or closed. This list of connections can then be used in a number of ways: A contact network is built up consisting of their direct connections, the connections of each of their connections (termed second-degree connections) and also the connections of seconddegree connections (termed third-degree connections). This can be used to gain an introduction to someone a person wishes to know through a mutual contact. Users can upload their resume or design their own profile in order to showcase work and community experiences. It can then be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one's contact network. Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates. Job seekers can review the profile of hiring managers and discover which of their existing contacts can introduce them. Users can post their own photos and view photos of others to aid in identification. Users can now follow different companies and can get notification about the new joining and offers available. Users can save (i.e. bookmark) jobs which they would like to apply for.

B2. Current State of the Art:
(Please describe the current state of the art specific to this research topic.) LinkedIn can be used to identify potential clients, suppliers, employees, employers, or even the best people to invite to a forthcoming event. The search facility makes it easy to identify the decision-makers and influencers at prospective client companies. You can search for and connect with people in a specific position within a company in the industry that you are interested in - or even in a particular geographic area. It is much easier than using mailing lists, which very quickly become out of date and must be cleanedup at great expense and time before using them.
C.
Challenges:
(Please describe the challenges, specific to this research topic, currently being faced internationally.)
Big data is made up of data sets that grow so huge that they become difficult and clumsy to work with using on-hand data management tools.
D.
Motivation and Need:
(Please describe the motivation and need for this work.)
LinkedIn will enable an "applications platform" that allows other online services to be embedded within a member's profile page. Among the initial applications were an Amazon Reading List that allows LinkedIn members to display books they are reading, a connection to Tripit, and a Six Apart, WordPress and TypePad application that allows members to display their latest blog postings within their LinkedIn profile.

3. Objectives of the Project
A. Specific Objectives Being Addressed by the Project:
(Please describe the measurable objectives of the project and define the expected results. Use results-oriented wording with verbs such as to develop.., to implement.., to research.., to determine.., to identify.. The objectives should not be statements and should not include explanations and benefits. The objective should actually specify in simple words what the project team intends to achieve (something concrete and measurable/ deliverable). Fill only those objectives that are applicable to the proposed project.)
A1. Research Objectives: (if any)
You can offer thought leadership: LinkedIn's many discussion Groups are perfect for demonstrating knowledge and offering insights into the market. You can initiate discussions, giving your thoughts on areas of interest to you. Members often forward thoughtful comments onto their connections, 'virally' raising the profile of the contributor. If there is no Group for your specialist subject, then you can create one.
A2. Academic Objectives: (if any)
You can use LinkedIn to run alumni programs:
Alumni programs allow current and former employees to keep in touch with each other, and are a natural fit with a networking website like LinkedIn. Such programs can create a sense of community, improve your employer brand and encourage old employees to keep you in mind when business opportunities come along.
A3. Industrial Objectives: (if any)
You can promote your personal or company brand: Using any aspect of LinkedIn, including the personal profile, discussion Groups and LinkedIn Answers, helps to raise your profile and promote your brand. You can create a detailed LinkedIn profile for your company, including a description of what your company does, how many employees it has and where you are located. This profile can be helpful in establishing an employer brand, as well as for online brand awareness in general. You can promote this profile in a similar way to your personal profile by including the URL in your email signature, on your business cards or on your blog. Find customers/clients, build channels, build demand, understand the market Call into a company
