Dear Sir/Madam I am a penultimate year student of Mechanical engineering at Imperial College London and I am most keen to present my application

for the investment banking Summer Analyst role at your firm. Working alongside smart and supportive colleagues, I will get a lot of experience in something I want to pursue in the long term. I want a working environment that encourages me to take the initiative and showcase my abilities. By giving me responsibilities from day one, Credit Suisse will provide just that. Furthermore, having experience in a global bank will be a great catalyst for my career advancement During my internship in Descon Lahore as a trainee engineer, I realized, that I was more interested in the business side of the industry rather than technical. I wanted to learn more on how the deal is finalized and the risks involved in it rather than learning about brittle failure in pipes. Investment Banking is ideal for me as its all about structuring deals and it develops well-rounded business acumen. Furthermore, being an analyst is extremely challenging and overcoming these challenges will be a reward in itself. Being a Mechanical Engineer, I have great analytical and technical skills. Furthermore, I have been involved in a lot of group projects; the most recent one being the Winch design and manufacture. Working on these projects with people from different backgrounds and skills allowed me to develop invaluable interpersonal skills and refine many other skills including teambuilding, communication and team management. In addition, as a University Liaison officer for IMechE, I have worked with professionals as a group to meet the targets set by IMechE. Studying at Imperial College has made me more than capable of working under pressure and meeting the deadlines. I strongly believe that I can be a great addition to the global team of Credit Suisse and my presence will be felt from the day one. I am grateful for your time and consideration of my application and look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Ali Siddiq
