G'Beredu Dounounba Rhythm Guide

G'Beredu is a Dounoumba rhythm and dance from the Malinke people in Guinea's Hamana region. It is named after a specific part of the Hamana Region. The rhythm involves variations of sangban and doun doun patterns played by djembe drums. There is some confusion about whether there are one or two versions of G'Beredu. Sources indicate it was learned from Mamady Keita's recordings and lessons with Martin Bernhard and Mamadou "Delmundo" Keita.

GBeredu

WAP-pages / Paul Nas / last edited on 31-07-2007 GBeredu is a Dounounba-rhythm; a dance for the strong men, from the Malinke in the Hamana-region in Guinea. This Dounoumba is named after a specifiec part of the Hamana Region. There is known some confusion about the existance of G Beredu I and II. I have found that what some have learned initially as Konowoulen II (or GBeredu II) is in just GBeredu. Call SSTSSS r l r l r l kenkeni sangban doun doun
