SINGLE PHASE TRANSFORMER : ( Sec.II--- 20)
Introduction , Constructional details & types, Principles of operation, EMF equation of transformer, Working on No Load & On Load, Equivalent Circuit, Regulation, Losses & Efficiency, Testing of transformer, Auto transformer. THREE PHASE TRANSFORMER : Working principle of three phase transformer, Construction details, connection diagrams of star-star, delta-delta, delta-star, v-v, T-T connections. POLYPHASE INDUCTION MOTORS : ( Sec.II---10) Working principle, Construction details & types, torque-slip characteristics, equivalent circuit, testing of three-phase induction motor, speed control methods, reversing direction of rotation. SINGLE PHASE INDUCTION MOTORS : ( Sec.II--- 10) Introduction , Working principle, starting of single phase motors, Split phase motors, Capacitor start motor, Capacitor start capacitor run motors, Equivalent circuit, testing of single phase induction motor, shaded pole motor, repulsion motor, series motor, reluctance motor, hysteresis motor Servo motor: - Working principle, construction details, types of motor, torque calculations, application of AC & DC servo motors.
