Reaction Paper Slumdog Millionaire
It is a reality that money runs the world. If we dont have money, we will not live. In the Money is such an accommodating material that almost everyone would do everything to gain this. Some people resort to many things just to have money. Some in a good way, sometimes in a bad way or at some point in time- by chance. The movie of Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle is all about the struggle of brothers Jamal and Salim towards living. Along with their friend and Jamals lost love, Latika, they worked on through their lives with various twists and turns. At an early age, the three were introduced to different brutalities. First, they were victims of a religious feud. Resulting to the lost of Jamal and Salims mother. Second, the three were taken by a syndicate and forced them to beg for money. There came a time that they attempted to escape but Latika was left behind. Nevertheless, Jamal didnt forgot her. As they grew up, they got involved to lots of circumstances that gave Jamal unforgettable lessons. These lessons taught them a lot of things to survive the life they have. Struggles that at the end of the story will be their weapon and strength to their journey of life. Though Jamal strove to live through the right way, Salim didnt. They were separated and Salim lived by greed and power. Separated by destiny and will to survive. He learned to kill and steal for survival. I think Salim is just a victim in the story, eaten by the system of bad ideals and instinct to surviv. He is just a victim of circumstances wherein he faced poverty just as young as he could remember. For many years, he had to work so that he and his brother could have food to eat. In life as we go on, the past things in life lead us to what and when we are now. Just like salim, he was forced to have a bad life for survival. He did many things and worked for a famous gangster just to earn money. All of us have a choice but Salim went to a
bad decision. Because of the need and greed for money, he chose the worst decision in his life, to be a follower of the wrong and the bad. Nonetheless, that I life, we have choices to make and life to love. I cant blame him. He wanted to live an easy life full of power. This led him to that choice. At the end, he end up his own life with money beside him. He hates his life and if ever could just have been in a better position in life, he would have not choose to be at the wrong side. As to jamal, he is a very strong man, a man with purpose and determined to have a better life. In the quest of his test in the contest the he was into, his answers pop into his head incidentally because of life experiences. It only proves that we learn through our life experiences. Experiences are like teachers, it teaches many lessons in life that will be our guidance in all walks of life. For jamal, his experience were the teachers that taught him to win the game and be a millionaire. At the end, the moral point of the story is that we own and control our live, no one else but ourselves. It is us who determines what e become, yes, life may be unfair, but at the end, let us use challenges to have a better view in life and not to lose hope. The most important of its is that we must remain resilient. Be positive always. Things happen and they taught us important lessons in life. And we go on, let us use them to become a better person and a millionaire.
127 hours Reaction Paper
127 Hours is a 2010 biographical survival drama film directed, co-written and produced byDanny Boyle. The film stars James Franco as real-life canyoneer Aron Ralston, who became trapped by a boulder in an isolated slot canyon in Blue John Canyon, southeastern Utah, in April 2003. Ralstons date with his quest in a very dangerous canyon climb and his arms get jammed under a colossal boulder. Food and water are running out but he has a small pocket knife and now face in a choice about what he will leave behind. One amazing thing I realized in the story was the title which refers to the hours he was trapped and the time he needed to reflect and confront with the reality he was in. with the 127 hours he was there. He reflects on matters of his life and begin to see and feel the things that happened to his life. For me, this is a story that shows life reflection and how to cope up with the challenge that we face and more importantly sacrifices we make. As to reflection, indeed it I ironic that we only reflect on matters that happened to us when we are in a hard situation. We begin to realize when where the times we went wrong, what have happened and tell to ourselves that we should have not done that. Indeed, we need a time to reflect and check on things that matters in life. Whether it is family, friends or relationship. The moment we reflect and see things in a better view, it is the time we see a clearer picture and begin to think rationally. And as a result, we begin to make right decisions to help us with the problem we are facing. Coupled with reflection is the idea of getting better. We must be a better person to have a good life. We need to pause for a while and think.
Then after considering all the things that we have. It is now time to move. Time to think that we have family and love ones waiting for us, depending on us and loving us. The situation will not get any better if we are to think of negative things for it will only worsen the situation. As to sacrifices, we all have to make sacrifices in life. We have no choice but to make it when circumstance warrants. Most especially when we are face with a problem. It may result in a loss but at least we have to make it for it is the right thing to do . But in order to attain this, we must not do it all alone, seeking for help is not a crime, its a showing that no one can live all alone. That we need other people in order to live. At the end, the most important of its all is the fact that the story has a strong message to all of us, that as we reflect to things that happening before us we become a better and strong person. Like Ralston, he became a better person, le learned that he could not do everything himself and that he should swallow his pride and ask for help for a little more.
The Sixth Sense Reaction Paper
Thanissaro Bhikkhu says, the source of emotions, the use of the emotions in the course of the practice, and the ideal emotional state of a person who has completed the path and is fit to teach others. In particular, this discourse counters a common misperception: that the distress that comes from having an unachieved goal is an obstacle in the practice, and that the antidote for that distress is to renounce any sense of goals. The six sense is a story of a boy who communicates with spirits that dont know they are dead seeks the help of a disheartened child psychologist. It was a great psychological thriller movie that is worth the time to watch. At the beginning, all I thought that is was only a ghost movie not knowing that it has a great impact that made me realize how important life is. The boy who can talk and see dead people have a very unique skill. He uses it to help others. One thing I like on that part of the movie was the fact that they resolved and shown to others what is the real reason of the death of the girl. I think and correlate it somehow with dreams we have. Sometimes our dreams give us hint or clues of the possible things that may happen or what is about to happen. A possible event that could be foreseen to avoid. Dreams can be windows for other people to talk to us whether the living or the dead. Perhaps a lot will not agree, but I believe the dreams we have are signs for us. We may not see the whole picture but the bottom line is there is a message that is within that we must interpret and give meaning to the way we see things. I must admit that the Story was surprisingly great. I did not now not until the story that the adult that the boy as talking to is already dead. I did not expect that from the start of the movie.
It was well crafted movie that will make everyone predict the possible outcome of the movie. I found it hard to predict the possible ending, for I am usually fun with how to predict how story ends. But more importantly, the message it brings. For me the message of the story of seeking for help was not easy, we need to understand things to fully understand the situation and address it for it to be solved and not to further make the problems more complicated. Lastly, the fact that we must live life the way we want it to be that will make us happy and not regret at the end. For we do not know now, death may strike the least we expext it.
Lie to Me Reaction Paper
Gong Ah Jung, a level 5 Ministry of Culture official, gets entangled in a web of lies when she mistakenly lies that she's married to Hyun Ki Joon, a hotel manager from an affluent family. Their relationship is further complicated when Ki Joon's ex-fiance and a close friend of his brother's, Oh Yoon Joo, reappears in his life. But as Ki-joon and Ah-jung grow closer and more fond of one another over the duration of their marriage and Ki-joon finds himself questioning his commitment to his former fiance Yoon-joo. Eventually, however, Ki-joon makes the decision to be with Ah-jung despite the heartache he is sure to cause his ex lover. Like any other Korean love story lie to me is a feel good movie that is romantically great. The love story of the two lovers is full of twist and turns. But as always been the aspect of love, when love strikes it is uncontrollable and defy the rules. It also gives the idea that when love strikes it chooses neither race nor status in life. As long as you feel that you love the person it will go along the way and learn to love him even more. This is a good movie where love is a very romantic and feels young. It is as of love is so easy and happy. It is crafted in a light and easy setting with a great theme. I found it very interesting because it is easy to relate for it happens usually and naturally. This love story also shows that love is a continuous process, you might be struck at first but it is not enough. Happiness and respect will be there. In this movie, love can be learned along the way. It may not start the way you want it to be, but at the end, it will be a happy after. Like a fairy tale where there is a happy ending. As depicted in the movie, it was not easy for the Gong Ah Jung to live with it for she even lied to be married to Hyun Ki Joon which I found to be funny and interesting part of the
story. There was a twist in a very romantic yet exciting way. A truly feel good movie and a beautiful movie to watch. I am confident, after watching the movie, love is truly a great force that attracts two different persons. And it does not matter when, what or where we love. As long as two people love each other everything will be fine and be happy.
