Worker William
Prince William, the future king of the United Kingdom is 23 years old now. A year
ago he decided to see how the other half of the nation live. To do this, he decided to try
several jobs, from football coaching to mountain rescuing.
It was his father, Prince Charles, who helped him to choose the work places. First
William learnt how to look after lands. He went out and worked in the fields, which he really
enjoyed. It is really useful for him because he will have a large land to run.
Later, he decided to find out more about the financial world. He wanted to learn how
he should give money to organizations and hospitals, who and what he should help. He even
worked in a hospital to see what is happening behind the walls.
He even joined a mountain rescue team in Wales. It was very useful for him because
he could work on his fitness which he will need next month when he joins the army.
People say that with this work experience the boy Prince became a man who will be a
King. He is not a remote person who knows nothing about the world around him. We
shouldnt forget that William wasnt schooled at home but went to Eton and then spent 4
years at St Andrews University, which also helps him to be closer to the nation. Many kings
and queens didnt do this in the past and remained distant from the people.
William knows that one day he will be the head of a nation, which is not fun but
responsibility. Although he is a very rich person and he will be a rich king, he cant waste
money. He will have to know how to live with his power and how to be a king loved by the
nation.
William can easily accept that one day he will be King William; however, he has
problems with photographers who work for the media and put photos of his private life on the
cover of newspapers and magazines. He blames these photographers called paparazzi for
making his mothers life a misery (she died in 1997). The paparazzi are after his girlfriend
too, which he cant tolerate. Thats why he wants to stop these people following him and
ruining his life.
