Web Page
Description: This is a web page deisgn created for my
Visual Media class.
Programs: Text Wrangler
Date: 11/21/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objectives were to sixe and optomize an
origional logo for a web page, to write content explaining
the creation of the logo, to learn HTML and CSS coding,
and to be able to identify hex colors to match the logo.
Process: My process in completing this design was to
begin brainstorming and sketching out different ideas.
Once I had an idea of what I wanted the web page to look
like, I wrote the skeleton of it in HTML and got the elements
placed where I wanted them. Next, I begon on the CSS
and developed the design further by choosing styles, colors, shapes, etc. I chose a found image, and applied that
as the backgroud, checked everything over for errors one
last time, and then finalized the design.
Brochure
Description: This is a travel brochure created for a fictional
travel agency as an assignment for my Visual Media class.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
Date: 12/6/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective was to design a full-color, folding
brochure to promot a companies product, service, or location. As part of the requirements, the design had to use a
new origional logo, incorporate at least four quality images,
utilize text wrap, contain a minimum of 250 words, and be
full bleed.
Process: For this design, I began by brainstorming and
sketching. Once I had concieved an idea, I designed the
logo in Adobe Illustrator and placed that file into indesign
on a brochure template I had created. I wrote the text,
found high quality images, and then started placing everything into the brochure and color matching to create a
working color scheme. Once it was completed, I printed it
in full bleed and finalized the design.
Photo Design
Description: This is a photo design project created for my
Visual Media class.
Programs: Adobe Photoshop
Date: 10/18/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective here was to design in Adobe
Photoshop in a way that would show my proficiency in both
photography and Photoshop. As project requirements, I
had to capture a quality image, edit that image in Photoshop, and create an 8.5x11 design that uses color matching from the image to make a valid color scheme. The
finished project also had to be full-bleed.
Process: My process in completing this design was to
begin brainstorming and sketching out different ideas.
After I had an idea of what I wanted to go and an image
that would give me plenty of colors with which to create
a good color scheme, I staged the photo with good lighting and took the photo. I then put the image in Photoshop
and make the necessary edits before creating the design around it. I color matched to create a tetradic color
scheme, and then found a quote that complemented the
design. I then finalized the design and printed in full bleed.
Montage
Description: This is a religious poster wcreated as a montage project for my Visual Media class.
Programs: Adobe Photoshop
Date: 10/25/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective was to use the masking feature
of Adobe Photoshop to create a spiritual poster montage
using a minimum of two images as well as text
Process: My process in completing this design was to begin brainstorming and sketching out different ideas. Once
an idea was concieved, I took the design to the computer
and search for two images that fit my idea and could be
manipulated to do what I wanted. I began by placing the
picture of the sunset, and then created a mask to place the
image of the footprints in the sand. Using the mask, I fit
the images together mainly by opacity. Finally, I chose and
placed the text that I wanted in a font and color that I felt
complemented the design.

Description: This is a series of logos which were created as
a project in my visual media class.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator
Date: 11/01/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective of this project was to create three
different logos with varying color schemes and texts for
a business of our choice. I chose to design logos for the
returant chain, Taco Time.
Time
Process: I began the process with brainstorming and
sketching. Once I had chosen a business and had some
good ideas to work with, I took the designing to the computer with Adobe Illustrator. Using primarily shape tools,
text tools, and anchor points, I was able to design these
three logos all with different texts and color schemes.

Letter Head
Description: For this projects, I designed a new logo for a
fictional company (Happily Ever After Even Planning) and
then designed a letter head for the company stationary.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
Date: 11/08/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective was to design stationary for a
company. The stationary and logo had to match the company purpose and appeal to the intended audience.
Process: My process involved a lot of brainstorming and
sketching. I wanted to figure out a way to incorporate the
text of the logo into the design of the logo, and that is what
I did. Once I had an idea, I took my designing to Adobe Illustrator where I created and finalized the logo before placing it into an InDesign document to create the letter head.
I chose a color scheme that matched the company and
pulled the design together, and then finalized the design
before printing it with a full bleed.

Programs: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
Date: 11/08/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective was create a business card that
would match the company as well as the previously designed stationary for said company. The business card had
to incorporate the company logo.
Process: My process in completing this design was to begin brainstorming and sketching out different ideas. I also
spent some time looking at professional business cards
to see what does and does not work well. Once I had an
idea, I got the logo from Adobe Illustrator and plased it into
a business card template in Adobe InDesign. I then used
color selection tools and hex coloring to get colors to match
the logo and create a good, working business card and
color scheme for the fictional company.

Event Ad
Description: This is a flier designed for a fictional event,
created entirely in Microsoft Word.
Programs: Microsoft Word
Date: 10/11/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective of this project was to learn how to
design without Adobe. The requirements were to create an
8.5x11 advertisement for a fictional event using only Microsoft Word and a found imagethat I had to scan and save as
a JPEG before use.
Process: The process involved much brainstorming on the
topic of events. After choosing one, I did a little research
and found an image in an old calendar that fit the ad. I
scanned the image in and then placed it in a Microsoft
Word document where I designed around the message and
used color matching to create a color scheme that complemented the design and was appropriate for the message.

Graduate
Leadership Conference
Programs: Adobe InDesign
Date: 10/4/14
Course: Visual Media
Instructor: Cory Kerr
Objectives:The objective of this project was to take the
provided text, image, and logo to create a black and white
working flier that utilized the design principles and shows a
sense of gestalt and flow.
Process: My process in completing this design was to start
with some sketching to see the different ways I could fit
the required elements together. Once I had figure out how
I wanted the flier to look, I took the design to the computer
and created it in InDesign. I used primarily shapes, lines,
and contrast to balance the flier and try to create a working
flow and a sens of gestalt.
