MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 024-2014
REQUESTING THE HONORABLE GOVERNOR JOEY SARTE SALCEDA TO ALLOCATE
FUNDS FOR THE PROPOSED GUINOBATAN ASTRODOME.

WHEREAS,
it is one of the primordial goals of every local government, in accordance
with their mandated functions, to provide their constituents with basic services and facilities
especially those relative to the improvement of the well-being of the youth, among others, and the
promotion of the safety of its constituents;
WHEREAS,
the proposed Guinobatan Astrodome would serve as venue for the
conduct of the many scholastic and sports activities that the schools within the municipality usually
hosts and would be able to accommodate a large number of occupants;
WHEREAS,
this proposed Guinobatan Astrodome could likewise accommodate
evacuees during the occasion and in the aftermath of natural calamities, such as typhoons, floods
and the eruption of the Mayon Volcano, as a means to prevent loss of lives, pursuant to the
provincial governments disaster and risk-reduction objective of zero-casualty;
WHEREAS,
the Municipality of Guinobatan, despite its mandate and the will to fulfill
the above project, does not possess the financial capacity to provide for the same. Thus, this
august body now seeks the most indispensable assistance of the Honorable Governor whom we
believe to possess enough resources to realize the same and the utmost concern for the People of
Guinobatan;
WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in
session assembled, to request as it hereby requests the Honorable Governor Joey Sarte Salceda
to Allocate Funds for the Proposed Guinobatan Astrodome.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Office of the
Honorable Provincial Governor, and such other concerned offices/agencies, for their information
and appropriate action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY on motion of the Majority Floor Leader, Honorable Councilor
Frances John M. Oxales, and duly seconded by the members present this 24 th day of February,
2014 during their 8th Regular Session.
