EC 2 - Action Taken

1) The Examination Committee discussed the results of the summer 2014 exams, noting the overall good college results but expressing dissatisfaction with student placement and performance on the GATE exam. In response, the institute has worked to improve placement and sponsored GATE crash courses. 2) The committee suggested revising the exam rules related to paper setting deadlines and passing criteria. The institute agreed to send paper setting invitations 1.5 months before exams and will propose the passing criteria change to the Academic Council. 3) Issues around staff vacancies and the need for departmental research labs were discussed. The institute has sent letters to fill vacancies and plans to establish postgraduate research labs pending university recognition.

7.2 In Regulation no 5.2.1, Invitation
to paper setting should be done 2
month before the start of examination
but Dr.D.N.Gujrathi suggested that
due late schedule of Examination
committee meeting this time invitation
will be not send in proper duration.
7.3 In Regulation no 3 Examination,
Dr.D.N.Gujrathi
suggested
that
passing criteria is 35% of Marks in
ESE should be obtained by students

Action Taken by the Institute

This time our T&P cell work hard on


placement related activities and as
result till date 10 students get placed in
different MNCs. Similarly through
TEQIP institute sponsored final year
students for GATE crash course at
Hyderabad and total 16 students got the
valid scores. All details are enclosed

As per suggestion this time the


invitations to paper setting are sent one
& half month before the start of
examination

This suggestion will be tabled in


coming meeting of Academic Council
to be held on 8th May 2015

fulfillment of vacancy positions of
teaching staff through contract basis is
sent to Secretary of Higher and
Technical
Education

Cell) for roster approval. Institute has
published advertisement for the post
