Makeup Talk: Makeup Essentials for Beginners

There's sooo many of you guys have been asking me about this topic, aku pun juga udah pernah
ngejawab ini di ask.fm but maybe some of you mager kan to scroll down and find out the
answer??! -_-

So I decided to make this post *also the video just in case you miss me HAHA* and hopefully
this will help you out! :)
1. Foundation
Banyak sekali jenis-jenis face product diluar sana. Mulai dari foundation, BB cream, CC cream,
sampai tinted moisturizer. Tapi aku tetap memilih foundation sebagai hal pertama yang harus
dimiliki.
Menurut ku foundation itu sangat multi-fungsi. We can get a full coverage if we use the
foundation alone, or medium coverage by mixing it with our moisturizer (this is what I use for
my daily).
So, how about the break out? Hm selama ini sih I got no problem with it. As long as you clean
your face properly, I bet you won't get this issue.
Tapi kalau kalian memiliki jenis kulit yang sensitif, aku saranin untuk coba mineral foundation
(it's usually in a powder form) instead of liquid or cream foundation.

My recommendations:
1. Revlon Colorstay Foundation: good for oily skin, full coverage, affordable
2. Estee Lauder Double Wear: good for oily skin, full coverage, matte finish
2. Lancome Le Teint Miracle Foundation: good for normal-dry skin, full coverage, light weight
3. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation: good for normal-dry skin, medium-full coverage,
affordable, light weight
4. Bare Minerals Powder Foundation: good for any type of skin esp. sensitive, medium coverage,
natural finish, no need powder afterwards, light weight
2. Powder
I have oily skin and I can't live with powder!! Bahkan kalau lagi gak mau pakai foundation
sekalipun, aku pasti pakai powder (maybe with a little bit of concealer to cover my spots). It
brightens my complexion and keeps my face matte all day. Pokoknya, powder is a must for me!

My recommendations:
1. MAC Blot Powder: excellent oil control, translucent, perfect for touch up
2. MAC Studio Fix Powder: good oil control, medium-full coverage, can be used alone with out
foundation
3. L'Oreal Mat Magique Powder: it's the MAC studio fix powder dupe!! :D
4. Maybelline White Super Fresh White UV Cake Powder: good oil control, medium coverage,
contains SPF 34++ UV protection
3. Blush On
Adding blush can add glow back to your face instantly, so that's why I suggest you to buy it.
Mengaplikasikan blush on juga sedikit tricky sih menurut aku karna once you've applied too
much it's harder to remove. Jadi pakainya sedikit-sedikit aja, kalau masih kurang bisa
ditambahin.
Fun fact: Blush on is my weakness! Packaging mereka biasanya gemes-gemes, warnanya pun
cantik-cantik bikin pingin ngebeli semuanya! :"D
But you don't really have to, punya 1 warna aja sebenarnya udah cukup lho.. For basic, kalian
bisa coba warna pink yang ada sentuhan warna peach nya (peachy-pink) coz it suits any
skintones, any makeup looks, any occassion also!

1. Bourjois Baked Blush in Rose d'Or: has gold shimmer (which is pretty), long lasting
2. Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheeks Blush in PK301: matte finish, long lasting
3. NYX Cream Blush in Natural: natural finish, long lasting
4. Brow Products
Believe it or not, one thing yang gak pernah aku sentuh adalah alis. Yep, I started to groom my
eyebrows ketika aku lulus SMA. So, kebayang gak sih seliar apa bulu alisku dulu? Hahahaha.
Waktu itu aku menjadi pager ayu di pernikahan sodara ku, dan MUA yang mendandani ku bilang
"Mba, alisnya berantakan banget. Saya bentuk sedikit ya", dan aku gak tau maksudnya "bentuk"
adalah dicukur (krn pas didandanin aku tidur wk). Bener aja pas cucimuka, aku kaget knapa
alisku tinggal seginiiiii!!!??! Tapi muka ku keliatan cakepan sih HAHA. So, semenjak itu aku
pun jadi memperhatikan keberadaan alisku

My recommendations:
1. Maybelline Eye Studio Master Brow Pencil: easy to apply, waterproof, long lasting
2. Enesti Auto Duo Eyebrow Pencil in Gray Brown: long lasting, smudge-proof, affordable but
not available in Indonesia :(
2. Benefit Gimmebrow in Medium/Dark: easy to apply, last all day, if you're lazy you can wear
this alone (no need to fill in!)
5. Eye Primer
If you wanna wear eyeshadow, do NOT skip eye primer. Penting banget untuk pakai eye primer
sebelumnya supaya eyeshadow kamu lebih vibrant dan tahan lama. Ironisnya (HAHA lebay)
dulu aku sama sekali gatau kalau ada produk namanya eye primer. Alhasil pas pake eye shadow
aku suka stress sendiri kenapa warna nya gak mau nempel dan bleber sana sini hahaha!

2. Urban Decay Primer Potion
3. Aubeau Eye-Makeup Base
6. Neutral Eyeshadow Palette
You don't need to wear eyeshadow everyday, but it's really nice if you have one. I suggest you to
buy the neutral one because you can multi-use it. Warna coklat bisa digunakan untuk fill in your
brows (or maybe nose contour!!), hitam bisa untuk eyeliner, shimmery champagne bisa untuk
highlight, and many more!
Yang pasti warna-warna netral bakal kepake banget untuk sehari-hari dan jangan lupa untuk pilih
palette yang mengandung banyak finishing (matte/shimmer/frosty).

2. Urban Decay Naked Palette: pigmented, all colors are beautiful, easy to blend
3. Make Over Trivia Eyeshadow in Emperor Brown: easy to blend, pigmented, perfect for daily
uses, the downside is: it doesn't contain matte shadows
4. Silky Girl Blockbuster Color Palette: the finishing are matte but has slightly shimmer,
pigmented, affordable
7. Mascara
Just a touch of mascara can make a huge difference! I don't wear eyeshadow for daily, but
mascara is a must for me :p memakai mascara akan memberikan efek mata yang lebih segar, dan
besar.
Tips dari ku untuk pilih mascara yang waterproof. Disamping dia gak bakalan smudge kemanamana, dia juga nge-hold curl bulu mata kita lebih baik!
Nah sebelum pake mascara, jangan lupa menjepit bulu mata kalian dulu menggunakan eyelash
curler. Yap harus di jepit dulu supaya pemakaian mascaranya juga maksimal. Aku tau banyak
banget penjepit bulu mata diluar sana mulai dari harga yang murah sampai yang paling mahal.
Menurut aku sih beli yang agak mahal dikit aja karna selain tahan lama, bakal dipake tiap hari
juga kan? hehehe.

2. L'Oreal Butterfly Mascara: waterproof, smudge-proof, lengthening, perfect for daily
3. L'Oreal Double Extension Curl Mascara: water proof, smudge-proof, lengthening, volumizing,
perfect for special occassion
8. Lip Products
Lipstick adalah kosmetik pertama yang ku sentuh pas masih kecil karna gampang banget kan
cara pake nya?? hahaha. Basically, we have to take care our lips first supaya produk apapun yang
mau kita pake ke bibir can glides smoothly. Nah aku saranin kalian untuk membeli lipbalm,
whether it's tinted or not yang penting bisa merawat kelembapan bibir kalian.
Habis itu kalau mau beli lipstick, lipgloss atau lip tint boleh banget. Lipstick sendiri pun punya
banyak finishing mulai dari satin, creamy sampe matte yang lagi hits banget sekarang hahaha.
Tapi kalau kalian masih SMA aku saranin untuk beli lip tint aja, hasilnya lebih natural dan long
lasting.

5. Benefit Benetint: water-proof, long lasting
6. Bourjois Effet 3d MAX Gloss Longue Tenue 8H in Rouge Sunny: not sticky, high
pigmentation, super glossy
