Content
This manual contains instructions for installing, using and
maintaining CTP PLATE PROCESSOR. As the processors
are identical in installation and operation, and differ
primarily in material width and tank capacity, they will be
referred to as the PS-Plate Processors throughout this
publication. Those differences that do exist will be noted
when appropriate.
These CTP - Plate Processors are designed FOR
NEGATIVE THERMAL PLATES AND POSITIVE
THERMAL PLATES.
Description
CTP- Plate processors are capable of maintaining preselected temperature in the Developer solution as well as in
the dryer. By replenishing for losses from exhaustion as
well as oxidation, they are capable of maintaining
developer solution strengths.

Introduction
Operation
All CTP- Plate processors covered in this manual use a
microprocessor control system to control developing time,
solution & dryer temperatures and replenishment
commands.
PLATE fed into the processor progresses through the
developer, wash and gum tanks, then through the dryer and
onto the receiving tray.
Transport roller modules are driven from a common drive
shaft that extends the length of the right side of the
machine. A permanently lubricated AC drive motor
provides drive to the drive shaft via a drive chain.
Figure 1-2. Processing Step
Developing time is programmable in one second
increments, from 12 to 65 seconds, by use of a touch pad
on the front panel. Selected developing time is displayed in
the control panel display window.
Feeding in material shifts the processor to the Operate
mode, bringing the transport system to the selected
developing time, switching the dryer on, and activating the

replenishment system. To conserve water, the wash water
valve is activated only when materials are in the wash tank.
Shortly after the trailing edge of the material has passed
onto the receiving table the processor automatically returns
to the standby mode.

and return them into spread tubes at the upper of SUS
tank.
Replenishment
Replenishment for developer is provided by a 196-264
VAC, single reciprocating pump. Commands to this
pump are made by the microprocessor control system
based on the area of plate fed and the replenishment
instructions programmed into memory.
Provision is made on the control panel touchpad to
manually activate the replenisher pumps.
Wash
The wash section removes chemicals from the material
being processed before it enters the gum. The wash water
valve, which provides for a continuous flow of fresh
water from the water supply, is activated when material
is actually in the wash section of the processor. Provision
is made to manually activate the wash water valve from
the control panel touchpad.
Dryer
The dryer heating section is composed of two heating
elements and fan located under the dryer tank assembly.

Introduction
Chilling unit for developer
DEVELOPER TANK
When ordering the plate processor please specify whether the chilling unit is required. Because it
is necessary to add a chilling circulation tube in the bottom of developer tank first. This has to be
factory installed.
How the chilling unit operates :
1) The compressor (B) will cool down the water temperature in the stainless steel tank (D).
However, the water temperature in tank (D) is controlled by the temperature switch (E). So,
this temperature switch (E) can always adjust which depends on the working environment
temperature.
2) The circulation pump (C) will then circulate the chilled water from the tank (D) to the stainless
steel tube (A) in the bottom of developer tank to cool down the temperature of developer. If
the DEV temperature drop to the setting temperature, circulation pump (C) will automatically
switch OFF and stop the circulation of the chilled water into the stainless steel tube.
3) The power supply switch (240V 6AMP) for chilling units is from of the processor.
