Key Features
Clean Steel Technology a manufacturing process that
delivers consistent steel through control and refinement
of the melt.
Proprietary Chemistry a chemistry that offers
excellent cleanliness and a well defined grain structure to
provide fatigue resistance when material is in service.
Electric Furnace Melt offers greater quality control
at the mill including refinement of chemistry, grain size
and shape.
Vacuum Degassed eliminates many impurities found
in standard commercial grade alloys. The result is a
better, cleaner, and stronger product that extends service.
Heat Treated eliminates excessive cost in heat
treatment. Our material is thermally treated (as delivered)
to a hardness of 269/341 BHN.
Machine Straightened eliminates excessive bow and
distortion. Our standard straightness is 1/8 in any 5 feet,
better than twice the industry standard. (for rounds and
squares only)
Stress Relieved reduces the likelihood of material
walking or moving during machining.
Semi-Finished and Finished Products

If currently using 1018, 1045, 4130,
4140, 4150, 4145, or 4340, consider
Kromite #3 as an upgrade to those
commercial grade steels.

Note: Caution should be exercised when cold
working any hardened alloy material. Use
equipment of sufficient capacity that is in good
condition. Utilize machine operators that are
experienced in working with hardened alloys
and wear appropriate safety gear.
