Responsibilities included: serves as the instructional leader in the respective educational unit; responsible
for assuring compliance with all federal, state, Board of Trustee, and Administrative mandates,
guidelines, and rules with their respective unit; also responsible for serving as an instructional team

Program Manager: Model Secondary School for the Deaf,
Washington, District; January 2000 to July 2001.

Responsibilities included: performs high level Administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of
Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) including manage facilities, administering disciplinary
procedures for serious offenses, planning and managing special school programs, managing the IEP
process, coordinating field trips and managing the central student files for MSSD; manages programs for
both MSSD and the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) including the recruitment and
hiring of substitute teachers, supervising the distribution of Clerc Center mail and producing the School
Calendar.

Guidance and Transition Counselor: Model Secondary School for the Deaf,
Washington, District; July 1997 – January 2000.

Responsibilities included: develops and implements post-secondary transition activities for student on
teaching teams; conducts periodic assessments of needs in school-to-work transition programs of families,
teachers and staff, addresses needs through the development of materials and workshops, curriculum
reform, and the establishment of job training sites that incorporate current research and practices,
collaborates with other professional in the field of deaf education providing consolation, training and
technical support.

Extended School Year Program Coordinator: Model Secondary School for the Deaf, Washington, District;
1998 and 1999

Responsibilities included: work closely with the Program Manager to develop the Extended School Year
schedule and program; recruits and hires program teachers and staff; coordinates staff orientation and
training; supervises teachers/staff; ensures safety and health regulations; communicates and submits
written progress reports to the Program Manager, Demonstration Elementary and Secondary Schools on
regular basis prior to and during the ESY program session; submits a final post-session narrative and
financial report; and other duties as assigned.

High School Guidance/Transition Counselor: Florida School for the Deaf and Blind,
St. Augustine, Florida; August 1996 – July 1997.

Responsibilities included: implementing a career education guidance program for vocational high school
students and creating a transition plan for each graduating senior; provide one-to-one and small group
counseling re. Careers, training, and work to students; review each student’s four year career plan with
student, parents, and school personnel; coordinate vocational evaluations of high school students; develop
a transition plan for each senior students; develop and implement a career planning workshops for high
school students and parents; teach Juniors and Seniors career preparing classes.

Mental Health Counselor: Jewish Foundation Group Homes, Rockville, Maryland;


September 1993 – September 1994.

Responsibilities included: direct care in a group home for adults who are deaf and have secondary
disability; duties include provision of support, organization and guidance to residents within the daily life
of the group home; effectively address emergencies; provide counseling concerning any personal or social
problems.
