Boure
One stop on a culinary tour of
Oxford should be at Boure
(pronounced Boo-Ray) where you
will find enticing dishes with a Creole influence.
Definitely consider one of the
chefs specials of the night like the
Crab and Corned Stuffed Fried
Shrimp that will give you a chance
to try a savory meal that is not
always on the menu.
Smash Burger at Neon Pig
Must Eat in Oxford
One of the most delicious burgers in the country can be found at the
Neon Pig. This delicious bur ger is made of a mixtur e of
hamburger meat, filet mignon, bacon, ribeye and strip steak and will
melt in your mouth.
For breakfast, a trip to Big Bad Breakfast is a must. Their go to
breakfast is one of their skillets. The most popular is the BBB
Skillet but if you like a little spice indulge your taste buds with the
Creola which includes crawfish, andouille sausage and a little kick.
If you are looking for something sweet, then head to Bottle Tree
Bakery for a delicious Cinnamon Roll.
One of the most popular dining establishments in town is the Ajax
Diner and is a wonder ful choice for lunch. They have gr eat
lunch plates like red beans and rice, meatloaf and chicken and
dumplings. Also do not pass up their cornbread. They serve dinner
as well.
The upstairs is a bar where visitors
can enjoy a drink and some appetizers while overlooking the
square. The downstairs portion is
the main restaurant.
Start out with a sausage and
cheese plate or maybe a crawfish
basket with a sweet chili dipping
sauce. Do not forget the fried
green tomatoes.
Then enjoy Jambalaya, Crab
Cakes, Shrimp & & Grits or the
Cornmeal Crusted Catfish for a
taste bud tantalizing entre.
Save room for dessert and enjoy

Butter Pie, Bourbon Peach
Crumble or Triple Chocolate
Brownie with Ice Cream .
Oxford is not really a seafood destination but if you are craving
some seafood, head over to Oyster and Seafood. They have a great
selection of seafood dishes. Start out with the fried oysters and then
try the grilled or blackened red snapper or Mahi Mahi.
Want to explore some upscale southern dishes then a trip to Ravine
is in order which features local food including grilled quail, striped
bass or even a grilled steak. City Grocery is also a tasty choice for
upscale southern dishes

bar in the Graduate Hotel offering

An excellent place to hang out with an
upstairs patio is The Burgundy Room. They
have great Bloody Mary and an old fashioned
cocktail.
Another great hangout place is the Blind Pig
Pub. This is a great place for happy hour.
They also have some mouthwatering burgers
and deli sandwiches.
Craving an enjoyable glass of wine? If so,
check out the Wine Bar where you will find
great wines and appetizers as well.
