Accelerometer doesnt work
i. The accelerometer is a built-in electronic component that
measures tilt and motion. It is also capable of detecting rotation
and motion gestures such as swinging or shaking.
The most common use for it is to activate auto screen rotation
on mobile devices when the user changes their orientation from
portrait to landscape or vice-versa.
Another modern application for the accelerometer is to control
the mobile device music player with gestures (Sony Ericsson Shake
control or Samsung Motion play technologies).
Accelerometers are also utilized for enriching the gaming
controls (navigating by tilting the device instead of by pressing
keys).
Another popular mobile phone feature based on an
accelerometer is turn-to-mute. It allows user to mute an incoming
call, silence an alarm or pause the mobile music player simply by
turning the device face down.

Problems Plugging In the Laptop
Problems With the Adapter
Problems With the Battery
Damaged Cord / Adapter
Problem
Description
Follow the wire from outlet to computer jack. There are several connection
Not Plugged In
points (more, if extension cords are involved), any one of which could have
worked loose. A plug does not have to be completely out in order to be too
loose to work.
Outlet Not
Turned On
Make sure there is power flowing to the outlet. A fuse may have blown, power
may be out, or someone could have flipped a wall switch and turned the outlet
off.
Tell-tale symptoms may include the "plugged in, not charging" message, or the
computer may take a very long time to charge or even lose battery power while
Damaged or
Dirty Plug or
indicators say the battery is "charging." If damaged, the power cord or the
power jack will eventually need to be replaced, but propping the plug up on a
Jack
book so it cannot fall out of alignment can work as a temporary fix. To
diagnose a problem with the port, try using a different battery and cord for a
while.
Damaged
Power Cord
The power cord is a wire inside a plastic sheath, and the wire can break with
or without damage to the sheath. If the power goes on and off as the cord is
moved or bent, the wire is likely broken. Try using a different cord as a test.
The Tablet won't turn on
You are unable to turn your Surface Tablet on.
Broken power adapter
If your Tablet does not turn on while power adapter is plugged in or if there is no signal showing the Tablet is
being charged, there is likely a problem with the tablet charger itself. You may need a new power adapter. A
power adapter may be bought from third party websites, such as Dealfon.
Dead battery pack
If the Tablet loses power immediately after being disconnected from the power adapter, the battery pack may
need to be replaced. At this time, replacement battery packs are not available for consumer purchase.
The Battery Repair Guide will show you how to remove and re-install the battery pack.
Faulty charging port
If power adapter does not securely fit into the Tablet, the charging port might have lost its magnetic charge. In this
case, you may need to install a new charging port. The charging port can be bought from Microsoft.
The Charging Port Repair Guide will help you install the new charging port.
Faulty motherboard
If the steps above does not provide a solution, the problem most likely lies internally with the motherboard. For the
time being, a replacement motherboard is not available for purchase.

c. Nonexistent Image on Display If you cannot see an image on the

adjusting the display settings, you may want to disable the auto
brightness settings.
d. Malfunctioning Backlight If the Tablet turns on and runs but the
screen appears to have no display, the problem may lie within the
backlight. If a faint image can be seen on the screen with the help
of a flashlight, the backlight may need to be replaced.

7. Magnetometer doesnt work
i. A magnetometer measures magnetic fields. Because the earth has a
significant magnetic field, the magnetometer can be used as a
compass. As such it is useful to determine absolute orientation in the
NESW plane.
8. Memory error
Running the Memory Diagnostics Tool
When you receive a notification about a possible memory problem, click the notification so you can
choose between two options for when to run the Memory Diagnostics Tool:
You can restart your computer and run the tool immediately.
You can restart your computer and run the tool later.
If you choose to restart your computer and run the tool immediately, make sure that you save your
work and close all of your running programs. The Memory Diagnostics Tool will run automatically
when you restart Windows. While the Memory Diagnostics Tool runs, you will see a progress bar
indicating the status of the test. Once the test is done, Windows will again restart automatically.
Getting the results of the memory test
If the Memory Diagnostics Tool does not find any errors, you'll get a message that no errors were
found.
If the Memory Diagnostics Tool detects errors, contact your computer or memory manufacturer for
more information.
What do I do if the Memory Diagnostics Tool finds errors
