This lesson plan aims to teach 4th grade students about adjectives by having them describe various objects using their senses. The teacher will begin by introducing adjectives and making a list on the board. Students will then work in small groups to describe grapes, apples, cookies, and crackers by their look, touch, smell, and taste, writing adjectives on a worksheet. Finally, students will independently write summaries of the activity using their favorite adjectives. The teacher reflects that grouping students led to some fighting over objects, so next time each student should be assigned their own item to describe.

Key vocabulary/ Target Language

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

Ask the students what an Adjective is and write their definition on the board. (A describing word).
Ask students what their favorite adjectives are and make a list of as many as they can think of on the board..delicious, fun, pretty,
smart, happy, sad, angry, rich, red, green, blue, cold, hot, sweet.

Modeling (whole class)

I show the students a bundle of grapes and asks what adjectives listed on the board could describe the look of the grapes, then I Add
words to the list as students shout them out. After that I give a few students a grape and ask them what the grape physically feels like
to the touch: cold, round, wet, sticky and also eat and smell the grape and do the same to dd more adjectives to the board.

5 minWhole

Time: 40 minSmall

Guided practice (in groups)

Give each student a worksheet, Pass out 4 identical objects to each group, then the students will write as many adjectives as they can
think of in the box that corresponds with Look, touch, smell and taste.

Independent practice:
students will write a summary of the days activity, using their favorite adjectives.
For example, Today in class I worked with my group to describe an apple. First, we just looked at the apple, it was round, red and
inviting. Next, we touched the cool, smooth apple

Closing
Have students read their summaries aloud. Encourage students to repeat the activity at home with their family, commenting on the
colors and tastes of their dinner.

Assessment

Reflection WWW/EBI
The students were excited to do the activities and describe and but I there was a problem in grouping, because when I gave them the
objects in groups some students were fighting because everyone in the group want to take something for him instead of sharing, so Its
better If I gave every student specific thing to describe.
