Long A

This lesson plan is for a 1st grade English class with the learning outcome being that students will be able to write and read words containing the long 'a' sound in 'ate' and 'ake'. The teacher will use flashcards, boards, and a song to introduce words containing these sounds. Students will then be split into high, medium, and mixed ability groups to do various activities practicing writing and identifying the long 'a' sounds, such as creating sentences with the words. The lesson will close with another review of the flashcards. The teacher reflected that student behavior was good and most were engaged, but that playing the song after the activities may help reinforce the lesson. Better assessment of student

Reflection WWW/EBI
Today everything went well and the class was so quite and behaving well that's why more than half of the students were in the
green happy light in my reward system. And for the grouping, today I divided them into medium ability and high ability students
were mixed with low ability students in order to help each other and cooperate. I think its better if I played the song after they
finish the activities so they have idea of the lesson.
Next Steps in learning and teaching
- Try to assess the students performance in the lesson, for example I have to manage my self and my time so while I'm teaching and
monitoring them I record my comments and write in the check list because after the class I cant remember exactly all the things.
