(BSC)
System Description
BSC is goal respect work accomplishment in all aspects of financial, customer, internal processes
and employee learning and growth. BSC enable Teams come together when they are committed
to a common purpose
and
performance
goals.
The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) system is
proposed to assists organizations in overcoming two fundamental problems: effectively
measuring organizational performance and successfully implementing strategy.
BSC system serve as a framework enforces a discipline around strategy implementation by
challenging executives to carefully translate their strategies into objectives, measures, targets,
and initiatives in four balanced perspectives: Customer, Internal Processes, Learning and
Growth, and Financial
The BSC has evolved into a strategic management system and powerful communication tool for
the organizations fully utilizing its many capabilities. Basically focus based on the organization
perspectives. The Balanced Scorecard system to translate five key strategic themes into
performance measures across the four perspectives of the Scorecard. Additionally, the Balanced
Scorecard has been cascaded through the organization at the business unit and employee level,
and linked to the budgeting process.
Goal and Objectives of BSC project
Balanced scorecard uses as cornerstone for management analysis, support, and decision making.
Such as: Build awareness of the Balanced Scorecard at all levels of the organization.
Provide education on key Balanced Scorecard concepts to all audiences.
Generate the engagement and commitment of key stakeholders
in
the
project.
Encourage participation in the process.
Generate enthusiasm for the Balanced Scorecard.
Ensure that team results are disseminated rapidly and effectively.

Scope of the project
The scope of this project is limited in developing web based system for BSC system which has
the following functionality
Users can log into the system
Registering users/staff worker/employee
user can update their password if they forget it
User can cascade work plan based on the owned budget
Strategic and planning manager can evaluate and view reports of work activities that
accomplished throughout the organization
User can plan work activities whether weekly, monthly or annually
User can evaluate self, peer and others whether practically or behaviorally
User can view their activities reports
Leader/directors cascade work activities from parent office to lower office
Leader/directors view notification work plan activities or accomplishment from their
staff
User can generate reports quarterly, biannually and annually
Keep privacy of the user using password and username
System must be able to generate reports in different formats based on users need

Project Title 2 :
Student service management system for Haramaya university
General Objective
The core objective of this project is to develop centralized database web based application
which can easily store, retrieve and update data.
Specific Objective
Building one centralized database server for all the service given by student management
system.
Developing system that enable to access the student data from the server to get cafeteria
service
Developing web based application that help user to assign dormitory for student
automatically
Scope of the Project
This project is limited only in Haramaya university. The system will capture information about
student personal details, dorm details, student medical record and Employee information. It also
allow the employee to change their own user name and password.
Significant Of the Project
This project has many significant and the important once are listed below
Used to Register non caf students
Used to assign dorm for students
Used to manage students medical record
Used to manage cafeteria serving materials
Used to make payment for non-caf students
Considering Haramaya univeristy student service management have no computerized
management systems we select some of the core tasks in order to go through and develop web
based system. Has it been said above we proposed to develop a centralized client/server based
system for Haramaya univeristy students service management.
Now the Haramaya univeristy student service management is running manual functioning,
when providing services like dormitory management, students cafeteria service and clinic
service. Hence the functioning system is prone to errors and in addition it has many
disadvantages related to the campuss resources like time and paper.
Current System Description
Haramaya univeristy student services have different departments. These departments work to
give different services to the students. Each department has its own workers. Some of the
departments are; Clinic service, dormitory service management, Finance department and the
Cafeteria is the main service departments. All these departments collect the list of students from
the registrar office beside the students associate dean office.
Student who wants to be non-caf are registered in the associate dean office. This office also
return back this list to the students cafeteria management office. The students cafe management
office gives to caf students cup, fork and meal card. Non caf students list also send to finance
office of the campus. The dormitory management office assign to students manually. The
students clinics manage patient medical record using a registration book.
