Speedtronic Mark*VIe Control System
Operation & Maintenance
Course Description
This course provides training on the essential elements of the Mark VIe turbine
control system. The course will include instruction on the hardware and software
components of the Mark VIe control system and its interface system (HMI).
It allows participants to improve control system troubleshooting and maintenance
skills through hands-on exercises on the training control panel.
In addition, the course allows participants to Operate a typical gas turbine
providing comprehensive knowledge of operations, from the HMI screens all the way
into the field, understanding P&IDs & device summary, auxiliary systems and
functions of major components and their purpose.
GE Documentation will be taught and used throughout the course, the same way
your unit is designed to be operated & maintained.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the trainee will be able to:
Understand the Speedtronic Mark VIe control system functions
Know panel hardware configuration, power supply and power distribution
Use Mark VIe ControlST* suite application software to configure IO, investigate in
the logic, troubleshoot turbine and diagnostics alarms.
Replace controllers, IO packs and terminal boards
Configure, control and create DDR (Dynamic Data Record) and Capture blocks for
logging data
Know networks configuration
Test control system and graphic pages communication
Use Mark VIe Cimplicity* software to control gas turbine.
Prepare to start, load, unload and shut down the unit
Why attend this course?
To get a practical understanding of the Speedtronic Mark VIe control system.
To be able to know the panel hardware configuration, troubleshoot alarms,
troubleshoot hardware/software faults, actuator calibration and configure signals.
To be able to access, configure and manage the main tools offered by the ToolboxST
and Cimplicity software.
To be able to conduct confidently and safely the unit.
Who should attend this course?
This course is recommended not only for engineers and technicians that daily provide
maintenance activities on the equipment, but also for the engineering department
personnel.
