Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered March 1, 2017
quality education to prepare students to be Issue 560
life-long servant leaders.
Hi Parents!
As Days Upcoming Dates
Can you believe we are in March already? That means we only have a few more Parents in Prayer-every Tuesday 8:15 am
weeks until the end of the 3rd quarter. Please check Jupiter to help you child March 9 PTA meeting 2:30 pm
finish this quarter strong and contact their teacher if you have questions or con-
cerns. March 13 Board meeting 3:45 pm
March also means that our accreditation visit is only seven weeks away and the
self study has to be turned in (MY homework!!) soon. Several of you responded March 17 11:45 am early release ; end of 3rd
to my request for help as we get closer to the visit and so if you still are willing to quarter
help, please let the office know. Thanks for considering this request.
Last month you participated in the parent survey and we really appreciate your March 20-24 Spring Break
input. I will try to highlight a few areas in our school that you thought need im-
provement and many others that you rated as strengths of MVCA.
Our lowest rating had only 42% consider our support services as excellent and
just 52% feel like parents are involved with formally reviewing and revising the
foundational documents (mission statement/expected student outcomes, pur- Friday Hot lunch
pose, etc.). 53% consider activities provided for students as adequate.
Soup Bar
The highest rating (94% of parents) affirmed that children have administrators
and teachers who monitor and inform parents of the child's learning progress
while 90% thought the governing body operates responsibly and functions effec-
tively. At around 85% agreed/strongly agreed that the following areas were
strengths: Effective communication about goals and activities, Teachers use a
variety of teaching strategies, students have at least one adult advocate and learn-
ing activities plus work as a team to help children learn, MVCA provides quali-
fied staff to support learning and that the school provides a safe learning envi-
ronment.
If you would like to look over the detailed report, stop by the office to view it.
We welcome your thoughts and reflections. Thanks again for helping us take a
snapshot of the effectiveness of MVCA. This information will help the visiting
team give us ideas and direction to improve. We appreciate you investing in a
Christ centered quality education developing lifelong servant leaders.
A big THANK YOU
Blessings,
