Dear M.Tech Aspirants,

A
part from the IITs and NITs, BITS is one of the renowned private universities with
its own set of entrance exams for the UG and PG courses. BITS HD is the entrance
exam for the M.E programmes at BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

The admissions to these programmes is solely through the BITS HD Admission Tests
which are online and designed to test the eligibility of the candidates as well as their knowl-
edge in their chosen disciplines for the higher degree programmes at the various campuses
of BITS. The online tests that are the BITS HD Admission Tests are based on the syllabus
of the qualifying degree. BITS has specified the syllabus along with the names of the ref-
erence books that would aid students in preparing for the entrance test.Candidates who
qualify in the BITS HD Admission Test 2016 will have to face a personal interview before
being offered admissions.

BITS HD Eligibility Criteria

T
he BITS HD 2016 Eligibility Criteria is the prescribed qualifications and other
criteria determined by BITS for admissions to the M.E programmes at its three
campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The BITS HD 2016 Eligibility Criteria
is given on this page for applicants to check and ensure that they meet the criteria before
applying. Admissions will be offered to only those candidates who meet the BITS HD 2016
Eligibility Criteria and qualify in the BITS HD 2016 online tests.

BITS HD 2016 Eligibility Criteria is as follows:

l Candidates must have passed a full time degree as specified in the table below.
l Applicants must have obtained at least 60% in aggregate
l Candidates must appear for and qualify in the BITS HD 2016 tests

Note: Candidates with B.E./B.Tech degree in IT area will be eligible to apply for M.E.
Software Systems only. They are not eligible for M.E. Computer science. They may also
need some specific prior preparation.

BITS HD Application Form

T
he Application Form of BITS HD 2016 is now available from April 19, 2016. Candi-
dates must fill the online BITS HD 2016 Application Form and then pay online or
through Echallan of ICICI Bank. The printout of the BITS HD Application Form
2016 must be sent to the university. The last date for filling the form is May 19, 2016 and
candidates can send it to the admissions office by May 20, 2016

Procedure to Fill the BITS HD 2016 Application Form:

Step 1 - Registration:
Candidates must register for BITS HD 2016 by entering the following details:
l Name of Candidate (as in Class 12 Certificate): The name must not be more than 50

characters
l Gender

l Date of Birth

l Email ID

Step 2 - Filling the BITS HD 2016 Application Form:

l Candidates have to enter their Personal details, qualifying exam details.

l They have to choose and enter three test centres in the order of their preference

l After confirmation of these details, candidates have to choose the course along with the

campus of their preference

l A unique Application Number will be generated on submission of the details. Candidates

must note this number for future logins to check the application status, download hall
ticket and check the result etc.

Step 3 Payment of Application Fee:

Application fees: Rs 2200

2. Through Debit Cards (VISA Debit cards only of select banks, namely - Andhra Bank,
Axis Bank, Barclays Bank, Canara Bank, City Union Bank, Corporation Bank, Deutsche
Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IOB Bank, Kotak bank, Standard Chartered, SBI, Syndi-
cate bank, Federal Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, GE Money financial services.

3. Through Net Banking of the following banks: Allahabad Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of
Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Rajasthan, Corporation Bank, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank,
ICICI Bank, Karnataka Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, South Indian Bank, Vijaya
Bank, Yes Bank.

4: Through ICIC Echallan: The procedure is given below

l Candidates must choose Payment by cash at ICICI bank branches through Challan

to generate the online ICICI Bank challan.

l Candidates must download and print this echallan & sign at the designated places.

l They must pay the fees in cash at any of the ICICI branches using the printed echallan

l After payment, candidates must check that the bank transaction no has been noted on

the challan along with the signature and stamp of the bank official in all the three parts
of the echallan.
l The Bank copy of the challan will be retained by the bank for their records

l Candidates must keep the student copy with them

l The Institutions copy must be sent along with the printout of the BITS HD 2016

Step 4 Submission of the BITS HD 2016 Application Form:

l After submitting the online application form for BITS HD 2016, candidates must take
two printouts of the same
l They must keep one with themselves for future reference

BITS HD Hall Ticket

BITS HD Hall Ticket 2016 will be available from May 24, 2016 for downloading
by the applicants for BITS HD 2016. Candidates may note that the BITS HD 2016
Hall Ticket/admit card will be available only till May 26, 2016. The BITS HD Hall
Ticket can only be downloaded by candidates whose applicants have been accepted. To
access and download their Hall Ticket, candidates must log in

Details of the BITS HD 2016 Hall Ticket

l The Hall Ticket for BITS HD 2016 will be available only for download after logging in.
l Applicants who have registered and have been accepted can access and download the
BITS HD 2016 admit card
l Candidates must print the BITS HD Hall Ticket after downloading it and carry it to the
exam hall in order to appear for the BITS HD 2016 online tests.
l After downloading, candidates must check for any discrepancies and contact the
authorities in case of any.
l The Hall Ticket/Admit card is available from May 24 to 26, 2016 only

How to Download the BITS HD 2016 Hall Ticket/Admit Card:

l Candidates must enter their BITS HD 2016 Application No, Gender and Date of Birth
to access their Hall Ticket.
l They must download the same and take a printout of the BITS HD Hall Ticket 2016.

l After printing, they must affix a passport size photo in the space provided.

l The photo and BITS HD 2016 Admit Card must be attested by the Head of the

institution last studied in or a Gazetted officer

l Lastly candidates must put their signature in the space provided in the BITS HD admit

card 2016
l The BITS HD 2016 Hall Ticket must be carried by candidates to the exam hall to

appear for theBITS HD Admission Test 2016.

l The Hall Ticket will also be required during counselling

BITS HD Exam Pattern

T
he BITS HD 2016 Exam Pattern allows candidates to get an idea of the paper
pattern for their preparation for the M.E admissions at BITs. The BITS HD 2016
Exam Pattern gives details of the exam duration, types of questions to be expected,
marking scheme and more.. The BITS HD 2016 Exam Pattern also aids the preparation of
the candidates for the Admission Test of BITS HD 2016..

The BITS HD 2016 Admission Test will be online and comprise of different sets of ques-
tions from a large bank. Candidates are allowed to bring a non-programmable calculator.
All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only

Some important things to note are:

l The questions for the BITS HD 2016 Admission Test will be selected at random from

a large question bank.

l Therefore different candidates will get different question sets.

l An expert committee will ensure that all the question sets are of comparable difficulty

level, content, question type etc.

l The decision of the expert committee will be final and binding on the candidates.

l Only Candidates with the BITS HD 2016 Hall Ticket will be allowed inside the test

centers.
l Candidates should bring a pen for the purpose of rough work, signing etc. Blank sheets

for rough work will be provided, if required.

didates in the BITS HD 2016 exam will be known immediately to the students after
they complete their test but their BITS HD 2016 Result in terms of qualifying for
admissions to the M.E programmes will be known on June 10, 2016 when the result will be
announced. Candidates have to log in to check the details of their BITS HD 2016 Result and

l Candidates who have appeared for the BITS HD 2016 exam held on May 28 & 29, 2016
can log in to check their BITS HD 2016 Result.
l The BITS HD 2016 Result will also be accompanied by an offer for admissions if the
student qualifies according to the university guidelines.
l Candidates must download their admission letter and confirm their admissions as per

ITS HD 2016 Counselling will be held after June 10, 2016 when the BITS HD
2016 Result will be announced. Candidates who have qualified in BITS HD will be
shortlisted on the basis of the seats available, merit performance in the BITS HD
2016 provided they meet the specified eligibility criteria. Candidates can check the details
of the BITS HD 2016 Counselling below on this page.

Candidates who have qualified in BITS HD 2016 and are shortlisted will have to face a
personal interview before being offered admissions to their chose M.E programme at BITS.

Details of BITS HD 2016 Counselling:

l After the BITS HD 2016 Result is announced on June 10, 2016, candidates who are
shortlisted can access and download their admission letters.
l Candidates must complete their admission formalities as specified in the admission
letter after they qualify in the interview to be held for the shortlisted candidates.
l Candidates have to report to the respective campuses on July 29, 2016 and complete
their document verification and pay the admission fees thereafter.
l The admissions will be offered as per the merit scores of the candidates, the choice of
