Web 2.0 Tools to Support Collaborative learning

4. They will then click create to start their story
5. They will scroll down and see ALL ARTWORK in the search engine
they will choose the artwork of their choice to upload to their
story
6. Once they have found the art of their choosing they will click use
this art, followed by Picture book
7. They will come a screen with their artwork that will look like a
page out of a book (this is the page in their story)
8. In the white margin they will write a portion of their story
9. To add a page, the plus (+) sign will be on the bottom right of the
page
10. If they decided they do not want the page anymore the remove
button will be on the bottom left.
11. When students are done creating their story they will click save,
and publish
12. It will then take them to a page that will display title, summary,
and a category of your story that the student will be required to
fill up.
13. Click publish and then private
14. By clicking private/publish only the teacher can view the work
15. Then you can view your story by clicking the icon YOUR WORK
Ideas for how the For the 9th grade SOL 9.4b students can use story bird to create a visual

in PK-12 Shakespeare sonnets, this could be a chance for students to work
together to form their own interpretation of the story. This could also
lead to students learning from each other.
In a 6th grade SOL 6.1, the students can collaborate to create a story in
groups about one of the authors that they have read for the year. They
explain as a group why they choose the person, and they will also be an
expert on the individual which can lead to an oral presentation to the
class.
For the 10th grade SOL 10.1 students can work together to create an
alternate ending for a story. For example, there are many stories in the
Canterbury Tales. One group can change the ending The Cooks story.
They could present this to the class and add narration to their story to
make it seem like it was a film.

In high school throughout the year students will be instructed to take
notes, and it creates a timeline for going over notes when finals, exams,
or tests come along the teacher can upload it on to the board for review.
