Title: Adobe Photoshop
1.0 Introduction
Adobe Photoshop is professional programme that being used in editing existing images and
creating new images. This software is used to correct and add effect to the images. It also
used in power point or presentation, publications or lay outs (Brochures, Hand-Out,
Magazines, Book, Newspaper etc), world wide web (Graphics for web, web designs,
navigations), digital materials and video segmenting.
Photoshop was created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. When this Photoshop was
first introduced back in February of 1990, it caused a quite stir among the creative
community. The designers and photographers were able to perform image editing tasks
without using high end equipment that cost double the amount. It started a revolution that
continues until today. Nowadays, there a many other software that has performs similar
function to Photoshop. However, this Photoshop is still the industry standard program in its
field for image editing software.
In naming scheme of Adobe Photoshop was initially to version numbers. For
example, CC 2015 is Photoshop CC 2015 was released on 15 June 2015. Other than that,
there is also Photoshop Touch. It is an application designed specifically for tablets and
touchscreen devices. It included many of the features of the personal computer version,
including layers, selection tools, adjustments, and filters. Edited files could be synced with
Adobe Creative Cloud. Photoshop touch was available on iOS and Android. There were two
iOS versions which are one designed for iPad and the other for iPhone and iPod touch, both
of it is required iOS 5.0 or later. Android versions could be installed on any Android handset
(4.0 and up) and tablets (3.1 and up). It has since been discontinued.
2.0 Methodology:
1. Insert new layer to make background. The size for the header is the height 1200 pixels and
width 240 pixels
2. Choose the picture for the layers.
3. Copy and paste the picture on the background layer. If the image is too small or large, resize
it.
4. Add text. Use Times New Roman or Arial. Resize the font size if it too small or too big
5. You can try edit your image through blinding option or another tools to make it look more
beautiful
6. Save as PSD if you want to edit your image later in the future
7. Save as JPEG if you have finish your editing

4.0 Advantages
There are many of advantages using Adobe Photoshop software, it helps in organization of
editing photos and videos, which is quickly and easily import videos and photos into the
software. Once imported, everything is neatly organized on the screen. This makes it easy to
handle numerous videos and photos. Additionally, the proper organization of the workspace
makes it easy to find editing tools and other features. Why it quick to edit? It is because most
of the edits regularly done on photos can be completed with a single click. For example, it is
possible to automatically whiten teeth or reduce red eye with the simple click of a button. On
top of that, no professional training is needed to complete complex tasks like adjusting skin
tone.
Next advantage of Adobe Photoshop is as a tool in education. It helps teacher in
teaching-learning process, commonly uses of this is teacher will use this software to
demonstrate the subject to attract the students to learn. While, this software also can be used
by students in their assignments, especially for those students taking in art courses, this
software can help them as much.
The next advantage is we does not need to hiring experts. Instead of hiring someone
or asking for someones service to render and enhance your photos, you could do it yourself.
This will surely save a lot of money and you can also learn while you work. Photoshop
actions can truly help you a lot for it can give you the effects and enhancement that you want
depending on the type of action you will use. For sure, after knowing these benefits, youll
start using actions and exploring more of Photoshop. Aside from creating your own
Photoshop Actions, you can also download some and use it in your photos.
Furthermore, you can relax while doing your tasks. Some people will think that
editing photos is a tiresome job for them. It would do not be now because we would not
undergo the same wearisome editing. We will even enjoy doing the job now especially that it
will give us great outputs. After we download Photoshop Actions and use them, we will be
pleased to the wonderful results. Editing will no longer be a hassle for us but a fun task.
Instead of sitting in front of our computer for a long time just to edit a bunch of photos, we
will have more time to relax. Actions will do the job for us by speeding up the once tiring
editing job.
Least but not least, this software is simple to use. So it really recommended to beginner
for using this software. This is indeed an advantage for beginners. Since we do not possess
the expertise to create great photos, we can use actions. It is easy to learn using actions. We
do not need coaching in order to do it. Aside from that, we will be glad to see how appealing
your photos will look like despite your lack of Photoshop skills.
5.0 Disadvantages
There are several disadvantages of using Adobe Photoshop. Firstly, it is absolutely not free
but in fact, quite costly. It is a proprietary software which it source code is a secret and we
need to pay to explore the features of the software. Adobe Photoshop costs much more than
the most of the other photo-editing software. It is suitable and worthwhile for professional
user as they use it regularly but not for people who barely use this software.
Next, despite the fact that its quick-edit features are simple to use, this software was
not built for the novice user. They can use other photo-editing software that free and more
simple tools first to learn, and develop their skills and interest. It is takes time to learn and
master to use the tools for this software.
Furthermore, it takes up a large amount of space on computer as well as RAM
memory. This cause the computer to run slower than before. Sometimes, the user have to
uninstall most of the application in computer to allow this software perform its task.
6.0 Conclusion
In a nutshell, this software, Adobe Photoshop lighten our life by editing the photos of
us in order to create a unforgettable memories. Other than that, this software can also be
useful for many things. For example, as a profession, advertising or marketing, teaching and
learning process and many more. This graphic editing software is interesting to learn as the
result of the editing is satisfying.
Adobe Photoshop can make teaching and learning process more interesting. Teachers
can attract students with the interesting edited photos or graphics in a subject such as
anatomy of humans body for Science subject. Students will get a better understanding and
attracted for the learning. Same as other subject, such as Sejarah, Bahasa Melayu, Pendidikan
Islam or others, the teacher can use this software to make teaching process more interesting
by making the posters for example as we know that these subjects are less favored by the
students. It is maybe because these subjects need more reading than practical.
Students who take Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in school can
learn and develop their skills using this software as preparation when they further their
studies in university. It is very useful for student who takes interest in computer science and
programming because as they pursue their studies in Information Technology (IT) or program
in university that related to IT, this skill is helpful.
Thus, we personally think that Adobe Photoshop is useful and helpful for many things
regarding graphics or photos-editing. Teaching and learning process also can be more
interesting if the teachers are more creative and create something new by using Adobe
Photoshop.
