Dear Admissions Committee,

My name is Mariel Broadrick and I am currently a senior at The University of Georgia. I will
be graduating in May with a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Science. As
my time in undergraduate school comes to an end, I plan to apply to graduate school to obtain
my Masters in Nursing. In preparation of preparing for nursing school I have taken all pre
requisite classes required to attend UAB School of nursing. I have heard wonderful things about
the nursing program at UAB and look forward to applying.

While I recognize the admissions process to be strenuous and competitive I feel like that I
am a prepared candidate. My time as an undergrad has been filled with required classes for my
major along with multiple science classes required for nursing such as Anatomy 1 and 2,
Chemistry 1 and 2, biology, and microbiology. I have been able to maintain above a 3.0 GPA in
all required classes and also above the GPA required to exempt the Graduate Record
Examination. I also have competed in collegiate cheerleading for three years while attending
school.

A few things outside of school that further myself as a candidate consist of being CNA
certified, volunteering at Athens Regional Hospital in the oncology unit, and using my internship
experience to design a project with nursing students from Augusta University as well as
students from Downtown Academys project addressed the basic educational needs of the
students at Downtown Academy who may not have access to affordable or reliable health care.

I look forward to turning in my completed application to the school and hope to hear back
from you soon. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me by email at
mbroadrick5@gmail.com

Thank you for your time,
Mariel Ault Broadrick
