Classroom Rules 17-18

The document outlines classroom rules, procedures, and consequences for students. The rules require students to be on time, bring necessary materials, respect others, and listen. Procedures specify what students should do for bellwork, restroom breaks, dismissal, and speaking in class. The consequences progress from a warning, to a behavior sheet, parent contact, and referral for continuous disregard of the rules despite prior consequences. Steps may be skipped for serious issues or repeat offenders.

Classroom Rules

1. Students will be in the classroom before the final bell rings

2. Students will bring all necessary materials to class.
3. Students will respect the teachers right to teach and the
students right to learn.
4. Students will listen respectfully when another person is
speaking.
5. Students will listen to instructions, directions and
procedures the first time they are given.

Classroom Procedures
1. Students will perform the bellwork immediately after
entering the classroom
2. Students will request permission from the teacher, if it is
an emergency, to use the restroom.
3. Students will remain at my desk at the end of the period
until the teacher dismisses the class.
4. Students will remain seated at my desk unless given
permission to do otherwise.
5. Students will raise their hands and wait for permission to
speak during class.
Consequences
1. Warning
Students behavior is unacceptable and needs to be changed.

2. Complete a Behavior Think Sheet and/or Seat Change

Students behavior has not changed in a positive way and student
continues to disregard class rules.

3. Parent/Guardian contact and Behavior Intervention Form(BIF)

Student continues to act in a way not conducive to learning despite
previous consequences.

4. Referral
Student has continuously disregarded rules and procedures of the class.
The behavior has either not changed or worsened after the previous three steps.
a. The steps can be skipped for serious breaches of the classroom rules.
The only other reason I would skip a consequence was for repeat offenders. If the
same student had the same problem over and over again, I will meet with that
student privately to make a plan. Usually that plan involves skipping one or two
steps in the list of consequences until the student is able to demonstrate
appropriate behavior consistently over time.
