Requirement for Credit:
Students must complete all class work with a 70% or greater.
Course Grade Components:
Your course grade will be represented through assigned point values that are calculated accumulatively through the
    following grade components:
o Final Exam: At the end of the school year, students will complete a cumulative final exam.
o Summative Assessments: Summative Assessments will include unit tests and major projects. Test retakes are
allowed provided students have met all the criteria required for retaking a summative assessment. Retake
requirements will be shared with students in a separate document.
o Formative Assessments: Formative assessments will include quizzes, mini projects, and writing assignments
that occur during the learning process. Students can expect to complete homework quizzes multiple times a
week and should always be prepared to do so without prior notice. Students may use their homework
assignments and class notes to complete these quizzes. Major quizzes will be announced in advance and will
usually occur once a week. Students may not use any supplemental material on these quizzes. There are no
            retakes on formative assessments.
o Daily Work: Daily work includes homework and in-class assignments. Students should expect to complete
homework every night. Not all homework assignments are graded, but you are still responsible for
knowing the material. Students will not receive partial credit for incomplete homework assignments.
Make-Up Work:
If you have an excused absence, you will be given as many days as you missed plus one day to make up your work.
Make-up work resulting from unexcused absences will be recorded as 70% of the originally rewarded grade.
Make-up work resulting from a suspension will not be accepted and thus recorded as a zero.
It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and to get your make-up work turned in on time! You will not be
given daily reminders to turn in your assignments! Class time may not be used to make-up tests or quizzes.

Cheating:
Cheating or plagiarizing on tests/quizzes, writing assignments, individual or group assignments, class projects,
homework, or any other type of assessment/assignment will result in a zero. Additional disciplinary consequences will
    be administered if necessary.
Tutoring:
Tutoring dates and times will be announced at the start of each school week and will be posted in the classroom.
Students are welcome to come in for homework help, quiz or test preparation, and to complete missing assignments
    and assessments.
Calculators:
Students will be expected to bring their graphing calculator to class every day.
My personal calculators will not be shared unless there is an extenuating circumstance preventing you from having
one, which must be communicated to me by a parent/guardian prior to class.
Do not forget your calculator on a test or quiz day and always carry an extra set of batteries. Otherwise, you will be
completing your assessment without a calculator.
You will not be allowed to use any other handheld device with graphing calculator capabilities on any assessment as
these are not currently allowed on any standardized test.
Classroom Policies:
Always arrive to class on time and with all necessary supplies.
Be attentive during lessons. Please do not hesitate to raise your hand and ask questions when you are confused.
    Remember, smart people ask questions!
Food, drinks and gum are allowed as long as they do not make a mess and do not become a distraction.
This should be a community where we can share with one another without fear of judgment. We should be able to
enjoy learning from one another. This class should be a positive environment that you look forward to coming to each
day. If you ever need to speak to me about how things are going in class, please feel free to come speak to me
    privately.
Cell phones and electronic devices are not to be seen, heard, or used in class for any reason unless given special
