1. PURPOSE
This method statement provides minimum guidelines to carry out trial hole,
excavation, cable laying, fixing of light fitting and termination works in
accordance with drawings
2. SCOPE
This method statement covers the procedure to be followed for trial hole,
excavation works, cable laying, fixing of light fitting and termination works.
3. RESPONSIBILITY
Site engineer is responsible for implementation and control of all activities
ensuing that work is performed in accordance with drawing. He will also
responsible in maintain safe work environment.
Foreman is responsible for the direct work at site and ensures. That
performance in accordance with the approved drawing.
Project manager will responsible for monitoring the safety aspects work
environment and will ensure the quality of work as per the approved
drawing
4. MANPOWER
Project manager/site engineer will control overall activities. Foreman and
associated team will execute the job at site

6. METHODS / PROCEDURES
A. TRIAL HOLES
Initial we will mark the location with gypsum powder of measurement 1
meter length 1 meter width and 1 meter height to find out the existing
services and the used existing ducts as per drawing and we will take
confirmation from main contractor and consultant.
By using Labor and supervised by our foreman we will excavate the marked
places with shovel and pick axe.
Proper barrier will be provided to cover the trial holes for safety and proper
warning tape will be wrapped.
Proper PPE will be provided to all working staff in order to confirm the
safety at site
B. EXCAVATION
After trial holes as per the coordinates marking from main contractor we
will mark the route of excavation with gypsum powder and confirm the
route with main contractor and consultant.

After getting confirmation we will start excavation with labors using shovel,
pick axe and small excavators and it will supervised by our foreman as per
EDD standard width of 0.350 meter for one cable/two cable, 0.5 meter for
three cables height of .550 meter.
Proper barrier will be provided to cover the trial holes for safety and proper
warning tape will be wrapped.
Proper PPE will be provided to all working staff in order to confirm the
safety at site
C. CABLE LAYING
After excavation is complete and getting the confirmation from consultant
and main contractor we will start laying of cable as per EDD standard we
will use winch machine, rollers and cable trolly we will pull our cable

D. BACK FILLING
After cable laying complete we will be back filling our layed cable as per
EDD standard for LV cable and caution tape will be provided on the top of
the layed cable 0.25 meter from the floor level

E. FIXING LIGHT FITTING AND TERMINATION WORKS
After back filling we will install the area lighting, garden light, bollard, wall
recessed light using hiab and man power. Skilled technical staff will do the
termination work using technical tools like crimping, glanding.
For installing Area light, garden light we will use Hiab with proper safety
belt and termination work will be carried out by our skilled staff using

crimping tool, srew drivers, spanners, cable cleaning knife, insulation tape,
cable cleaning fluids, rachets of different sizes and glanding with monkey
pliers
Proper PPE will be provided to all working staff in order to confirm the
safety at site
7. SAFETY PROCEDURES
All working personnel involved in the activity are trained and experienced
All working personnel will wear all PPE.
All trenches will be guarded with safety barrier.
Site Engineer and Foreman will supervise all working staff.
