Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma is a retired Director of Physical Education and Sports from Punjabi University, Patiala. He has over 30 years of experience in teaching and administration. During his tenure, Punjabi University won the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy for inter-university competitions 9 times, more than any other Indian university. He has guided and is currently guiding Ph.D. students, served on various boards and committees, and represented India as head of delegations in international competitions.

During tenure as Director Sports, Punjabi University, Patiala has


won the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Trophy for the
session 2005-06 , 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2011-12, 2012-13,
2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and declared as the Best University of
India in Sports.

Introduced 7 games in Association of Indian Universitiess Annual


Sports Calendar for All India Inter University Competitions. The
games are :
