GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Aliphatic Polyurethane Coating. (top coat over
aromatic PU coating)
This guideline is to adopted as good working practice and to be read in conjunction with
the Application Instruction of CEMTEC AL PU COATING of CMCI.
2. Store unmixed material in a temperature controlled environment avoiding exposure to
direct sunlight.
3. Application at the minimum should not be during the hottest time of the day necessary
temporary shading shall arrange.
4. Availability of required material and labor should be adequate for carrying out the
application continuously.

IV. PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
CEMTEC AL PU COATING is an aliphatic, one component, liquid applied, moisture-cured,
polyurethane surface coating. Cemtec AL PU Coating is ultra violet light stable and will
retain its surface glossiness for a long period of time.
V. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Concrete surface shall be free of loose particles, ridges, projections, voids and droppings
that would interface with the application of the coating. All laitance shall be removed from
the surface.

Concrete shall be cured for 28 days prior for the application of the coating
At no time should Cemtec A1 Black PU be applied over concrete surface having moisture
content greater than 20%.
Concrete surface to receive coating shall be free from oil, grease, dirt, debris and other
contaminants that may adversely affect adhesion.
1.05. Repair holes and cracks with concrete repair products recommended by CMCI.
2. Placing
Base Coat: CEMTEC A1 BLACK PU
2.01. Prepare primer coat by mixing one part xylene to three parts Cemtec A1 Black PU. For
horizontal or vertical surfaces, apply a thin coat of primer at a thickness of 175 microns wet
film thickness. Application of Cemtec A1 Black PU shall be by any of the following: Airless
spray; Roller; Squeegee.
2.02. Allow overnight curing then apply the 1st coat of Cemtec A1 Black PU targeting a thickness
of 375 microns wet film.
2.03. Allow overnight curing then apply the 2nd coat of Cemtec A1 Black PU targeting a thickness
of 375 microns wet film
2.04. Care should be taken that no excess liquid collect on the edges of the wall converging on
the floor, if this occur the liquid must be evenly spread out by brush. The total dry film
thickness of Cemtec A1 Black PU (primer + two coats) should be approximately 700
microns.
2.05. Allow overnight curing of the base coat prior to application of the Cemtec AL PU Coating.
Top Coat: CEMTEC AL PU COATING
2.06. Ensure that the base coat of Cemtec A1 Black Pu has a cured overnight prior application of
Cemtec Al PU Coating.

Apply the 1 coat of Cemtec AL Pu Coating targeting a thickness of 250 microns wet film.
Application of Cemtec AL PU Coating shall be by any of the following: Airless Spray; Roller;
Brush; Squeegee.
CMCI 2.08.

Allow overnight curing then apply the 2nd coat of Cemtec AL PU Coating targeting a
thickness of 250 microns wet film.
Care should be taken that no excess liquid collect on the edges of the wall converging on
the floor, if this occurs the liquid collect must be evenly spread out by brush. The total dry
film thickness of Cemtec AL PU Coating (two coat) should be approximately 300 microns.
2.10. Full curing is achieved after 48 hours.
VI. CLEAN UP
Equipment / Tools shall be clean using Cemtec Solvent or Xylene.
