Strategies Tricks
There are two kinds of questions: Similar words used in answer
1. Question word (asking for information): Who, what, Who came first? She spoke first.
when, where, why, how many/much/long/far His name is last on the list.
2. Auxiliaries (asking for a yes/no answer): is, are, was, I arrived before the others.
were, can, will, etc. The correct answer often uses synonyms.
                                                               (came/arrived)
Listen carefully to the first word of the question and
decide what it is asking. Yes or No are not often used.
                                                               Are you going? Of course.
Think about what kind of answer is correct. Not til tomorrow.
                                                                                   If you go, too.
