Cielo Drive
Cielo Drive was the site of Sharon Tate's house. The house was torn down in the 1990s and another house has
been constructed on the site.

Sharon and Roman moved to Cielo Drive on February 15, 1969. Sharon left for Europe on March 24, 1969.
Several of these photos show Sharon packing in the front bedroom for the trip. Shahrokh Hatami took
photographs of Sharon at the house on March 23, so that is possibly when some of these were taken. March
23 is also the date Charles Manson visited Rudi Altobelli at the Cielo property. Could Sharon be looking out the
guest bedroom window at an unusual visitor in one of the photos above?

RARE PHOTOS OF THE CIELO DRIVE HOUSE

The photo above was taken in late August 1969. It is from a French magazine and was spread across two
pages. So, you may notice a splice down the middle. Note the Christmas lights on the fence rail. These were
installed by Candice Bergen (before Sharon and Roman moved in). They were also mentioned by William
Garretson in his police polygraph exam ("I could see her light all the way down... to the Strip"). You can even
see a some of the bulbs in the photo of Sharon and Roman on the Cielo walkway.
Above is a photo of the front bedroom used by Folger and Frykowski in 1969.
This photo is from 1969 and is the only shot I know of that shows the ceiling rafters.
The above photo shows actress Michele Morgan at the Cielo pool.
The house was built for her and she was the first resident.
This is Candice Bergen on the front lawn of the Cielo house. The lighting of Candice is odd and I'd assume it's
been lightened to show her better. It shows us a different view of the front of the house than seen elsewhere. I
can't remember seeing that bench on the porch in any other photo, either.

Above is a photo of the door from the Cielo Drive murder house. The door was apparently removed by the last
occupant of the house before its demolition. The door is now on a house in an entirely different state. I've been
asked to keep the location private, so I've blocked out the street address. Thanks to Tim Mizell for the photo

Below are photos taken in November 2005, after Hurricane Katrina. The door did survive. In the first, you'll see
the exterior is no longer painted white. The second shot is a very rare interior view! Thanks to a wonderful
contributor for these photos.

CIELO TWIN HOUSE
Below is a photo of the so-called "twin house." It is located directly below the Tate home and has the address of
10048 Cielo Drive. Note they are similar but the twin is shorter in length.
Of some interest, this house was one of the closest neighbors on the night of the murders.
Also note the first photo gives a rare view of the Tate guest house where William Garretson was staying in the
summer of 1969.

Emerson. Notice the second is a very nice panorama shot giving a nice big view of the drive approaching the
house.
