REVISED SALARIES FOR THE KENYA POLICE, ADMINISTRATION POLICE,
PRISONS SERVICE AND THE NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE
1. The Government, in its commitment to improve terms and conditions of service for
Disciplined Services, has reviewed salaries for Job Groups PG 1 to PG 10 for
implementation with effect from 1st January, 2008.
To Whom Applicable
2 The new salaries and salary scales, which form appendices to this circular, will apply
to the Kenya Police, Administration Police, Prisons Service and the National Youth
Service in Job Groups PG 1 to PG 10 who were in the Service on or after 1st January,
2008.

Incremental Dates
3 Those converting to the new salaries will retain their current incremental dates while
those whose incremental date falls on 1st January will be granted their annual
increment on the old scales before converting to the new salary points.
Conversion of Salaries
4 Conversion of salaries will be processed automatically through the Integrated Payroll
and Personnel Database system. It is emphasized that the salary conversions should
be verified immediately in order to ensure that any errors are detected and
corrective measures taken promptly.
5 Other terms and conditions of service for the affected Ranks will continue to apply.
