4. Details of Award of Contract:-
• Main Power Block- For execution of Main Power Block on EPC basis, LOI
issued on M/s BHEL on 12.12.08.
• Balance of Plant- For execution of Balance of Plant on EPC basis, LOI issued
on M/s L&T, Vadodara on 26.10.09.

6. Status of Statutory / Non-Statutory Clearances :
• All Statutory/Non Statutory Clearances, coal linkage and Mega Power Project
Status have been obtained.
• 1220.61 Hectare land has been earmarked for the project. For which, acquisition
of 1205.33 Hectare land has been completed.
7. Progress of Works
(I)Main Power Block Work-
Design Engineering Work in progress.
Around 62050 MT Boiler Auxiliary Components, 8200 MT TG Components and
47447 MT Reinforcement & Structural steel (SAIL) supplied by BHEL.
In Unit no.1; Boiler Drum Lifted on 08.03.11. 7106/10160MT structure and
4370/6500 MT Pressure Parts erected so far. Erection work is in progress.
Boiler hydro test (Unit no.1) likely by March’12.
In unit no. 2; Boiler Drum Lifted on 30.09.11. 6120/10160MT structure and
1301/6500 MT Pressure Parts erected so far. Erection work is in progress.
ESP erection work in Unit no.1 &2 is in progress. Total erection of ESPs
3264/8696 MT in Unit no.1 and 2220/8696 MT in Unit no.2 completed.
TG Deck of Unit-1 casted on 07.10.11. Destaging work completed. Condenser
erection to be started soon.
TG Deck of Unit-2, work is in progress for Deck casting.
Structural work of Power-House building is in progress.
(II) BoP Package-
Design Engineering Work by M/s L&T in progress.
Supply of material in progress.
Chimney Wind-Shell concreting upto full height completed. Girders erection
completed. Flue-can erection started and is in progress.
NDCT- 1; tower shell height upto 152 mtrs. completed. In NDCT-2; tower shell
height upto 108 mtrs. completed. Tower-shell concreting is in progress in both
the NDCT.
Intake well work going on, Present level +263.85m above msl. B1 bridge girder
erection up to P-16 completed and between P-16 and intake well commenced.
15/17 slab casting completed. In B2 Bridge, all the Deck slab casting
completed, work of pedestal for pipe laying is in progress. Raw water pipe

laying is in progress. Raw water reservoir liners& pre-cast slab work is in
progress. Reservoir pump house, Raft work is in progress.
RCC work of Track hopper, Wagon Tipler, Primary & Secondary Crusher
House, Various conveyors and Transfer points. Stacker-Reclaimer, 220KV &
400KV switch-yard foundations, DM Plant Building, Admn. Building , CW
Pump House, Ware House, Clariflocculators-I, CW-PF & Fore bay, Filtered
Water Pump House, Chemical House, Neutralization pit, WT, AHP and
various other area(s) of Power House is in progress.
Structural Erection is in progress in CHP area.
Tower & equipment erection is in progress in 220 KV & 400 KV switchyard.
Excavation, Embankment and Rock toe work in progress for Ash-Pond.
(iii) Rail Transportation System :
BIR to Plant:
• Order placed on SMS Infrastructure Nagpur on 23.03.2011 for
execution of rail link from BIR to plant . DPR & Engg. Scale Plan
approved by Railway. Work under execution by SMS Infrastructure
within plant since 29.05.11. Formation work, sleeper erection and
Rail-laying work is in progress.
• Railway’s Addl. Chief Engineer (Electrical) visited site on 16.12.11 for
OHE work.
• Bridge Drawings to be approved by Railways.
Surgaon Banjari Station to Bir Station:
• DPR for Railway line from Surgaon Banjari to Bir station approved
by Railway. Engg. Scale plan to be approved by Railways.
• Application for acquisition of land u/s 17 submitted to Collector
Khandwa on 26-04-11. Award of 80% land received.
• Consultancy Contract for Project Management and Construction
awarded on M/s RITES Nagpur. For engaging execution contractor;
finalization of contract activities are in process at RITES.
(iv) COLONY CIVIL WORK :
GCW-III (Colony package) – Order placed on M/s Indu Projects on 20.09.10.
Work commenced by M/s Indu Project Ltd. Progress is as under :
• A-type Quarter : (5 Block having 5 Units) Excavation of 05 Block
completed. In 02 blocks, PCC footing completed.
• B-type Quarter : (15 Block having 30 Units) Excavation of 14
Block completed. In 06 blocks, footing completed. In 02 block, slab
of Ground floor & First Floor casted, brick work completed. Plaster
work is in progress in 01 block.
• C-type Quarter : (35 Block having 140 Units) Excavation of 12
Blocks completed. In 08 block, slab of Ground floor & in 05 block
Slab of First Floor casted, brick work completed. In 01 block, Plaster
work is in progress
• D-type Quarter : (36 Block having 144 Units) Excavation of 20
Block completed. PCC completed in 12 block, footing completed in
08 block and plnth beam completed in 04.
• E-type Quarter : (60 Block having 240 Units) Excavation of 40
Blocks completed. PCC completed in 38 Block. Plinth level completed
in 28 Block. GF slab completed in 19 block. FF slab completed in 15
block.
• F-type Quarter : (30 Block having 120 Units) Excavation of 14
Blocks completed. In 02 block, PCC footing completed.
• Hostel Building : Ground Floor & First Floor slab casted. Brick
work is in progress.
• CISF Barracks : Ground Floor & First floor slab casted. Brick work
is in progress.
