IT Integration
                            Challenges
Ensure compatibility of control center software with a wide range of external IT components
(e.g. Asset Management, Energy Market, GIS, Work Force Management)
                             Minimize data management costs
Reduce the need for additions or changes to IT components
                             Siemens solutions
The Spectrum Power™ SOA framework supports integration with external IT components
applying a common underlying data model
The framework replaces tight integration with a set of loosely coupled, independent
                              components
Communication between the components is mediated by an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
Configurable bus adapters available for selected Spectrum Power™ modules
Highly adaptable interfaces provided for business services, and used in varied integration
scenarios rather than a single use
Standardized, traceable, and reliable communication over the ESB

                             Customer benefits
Reduced costs and risks with modernized IT components
Lower costs and risks upon integration of new components

It simulates and quantifies the results of problems that could occur in the power
system in the immediate future.
CA is used as a study tool for the off-line analysis of contingency events, and
as an on-line tool to show operators what would be the effects of future outages.
Allow the calculation of variables of interest with high confidence despite the
facts that the measurements may be corrupted by noise, or could be missing or
inaccurate.
It provides complete voltage angle and magnitude information for each bus in a
