1. Maria L. Makiling filed a libel case against Mayona A. Bulcan with the City Prosecutor of Mandaue City. 2. Makiling and Bulcan met with the Punong Barangay of Bakilid, Mandaue City and were able to reach an amicable settlement after listening to both sides of the story. 3. In light of the settlement, Makiling no longer wishes to pursue the libel prosecution against Bulcan and is requesting the City Prosecutor to dismiss the criminal case.

AFFIDAVIT OF DESISTANCE

I, MARIA L. MAKILING, of legal age, Filipino, married, and a


resident of Bakilid, Mandaue City, Cebu Philippines 6014, after having
been duly sworn to in accordance with law, hereby depose and state
THAT:

1. I am the complainant for the Criminal Case for Libel with NPS
Docket No. VII-13-16C-230, which I filed against respondent
MAYONA A. BULCAN before the City Prosecutor of Mandaue City;

2. Last 27 December 2017, I and the respondent Mayona A. Bulcan


have met before Hon. Taal O. Dibaa, the Punong Barangay of
Bakilid, Mandaue City. With the assistance of the Punong
Barangay, we sincerely talked about the Libel case and were able
to listen both of our sides of the story. Thereafter, we were able to
reach an amicable settlement;

3. In view of the said settlement and upon careful thought, I would


like to manifest that I am no longer interested in the prosecution of
the aforementioned criminal case, and I am respectfully requesting
the Honorable City Prosecutor to move for the dismissal of the said
case against the respondent MAYONA A. BULCAN;
