EXPERIENCE
LAURA
MCMULLAN LESSAN’S RIDING STABLES AND LIVERY YARD
Dates: 2006-2015
Volunteering at Lessan’s I was responsible for caring for the horses,
helping the children, and their parents, who came learning to ride,
how to behave around the horses and how to handle them safely
without endangering themselves or the animals. It increased my
LMCMULLAN.29@GMAIL.COM ability to handle horse, while also increasing my people skills at the
same time.
JERPOINT GREYHOUND KENNELS
Dates: Holidays from school
07594912495
I have worked at these kennels since I was old enough to be allowed
to. Here I had to clean out the kennels and feed and exercise the
dogs. Working here has given me the confidence to work around a
range of dogs as these were mostly large very fit dogs, in training so
the correct handling and awareness of the animals was essential to
avoid injury to myself or the dog.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR LEADERSHIP
I have also gained more
experience in being at university
in my animals handling skills. In During school I was a member of the netball team. Training and
completing practical’s in both competing alongside my teammates was an invaluable opportunity to
canine and equine, I have learn how to work well with others in competitive situations and
managed to increase my listen to what others have to say. It also helped with my leadership
experience with a wider range of skills as during my final year I was captain of the team and it showed
both species and increasing my me how to support others who look to you for advice and
confidence. leadership.
I was also a math’s mentor in school which meant I had to help the
younger students with any issues they were having. This meant that I
had to be able to communicate well with the students and explain
myself properly.
