ABOUT  LOAN  PROCESS  

 
1.  Course  is  approved  by  some  of  the  nationalized  banks  for  educational  loan  and  payment of
entire fees/expenses will be solely the responsibility of candidate.
2. As per recent RBI guidelines you have to apply for educational loan in the Nationalized
Bank at the place where you are presently residing.
3. We will help you in providing documents (D.G. Approval, Sponsorship Letter, etc.) required
for availing educational loan from the bank.

1. Candidates  should  be  healthy  and  physically  fit  for  sea  service  as  per  STCW  2010/MS  Medical  rules  2000  and  all  
its  amendment  as  applicable  to  seafarers.

How  to  apply

A   Demand   Draft   of   Rs.   1500/-­‐   (Rupees   One   Thousand   Five   Hundred   Only)   drawn   on   a   Mumbai   branch   of   any  
Nationalised   Bank  crossed   “A/c   Payee   Only”   and   payable   to   “The   Great   Eastern   Shipping   Co.   Ltd.,   Mumbai”  
must  be  enclosed  with  the  Application  Form.  Any  Application  received  without  the  Demand  Draft  or  for  lesser  
amount  will  not  be  considered.  
Applicant  must  write  his  name  in  CAPITALS  &  ‘(GME  course)’  on  the  reverse  of  the  Demand  Draft.  
Duly   completed   Application   Form   along   with   the   Demand   Draft   should   be   sent   in   a   sealed   envelope   super

8  Month  Pre-­‐Sea  training  at  the  Institute  -­‐>  followed  by  4  months  training  on  ship  as  Trainee  Marine  Engineer  
and   6   months   training   on   ship   as   Junior   Engineer   -­‐   >   4   months   mandatory   Preparatory   Course   ashore   for   M.E.O

partner  companies  according  to  their  standard  scale.  

With   further   experience   at   sea   and   on   obtaining   higher   Certificates   of   Competency,   they   will   be   placed   in   the   next   grade  
and  simultaneously  have  an  opportunity  to  rise  to  the  rank  of  Chief  Engineer  of  the  Ship.

General  Instructions.  

1. The   Applicants   are   responsible   to   ensure   that   they   fulfil   the   eligibility   criteria,   regarding   educational  
qualifications,  MMPE  test,  age  and  eyesight.  
 
2. Eligibility   criteria   for   admission   to   the   course   are   as   per   the   guidelines   issued   of   the   Directorate   General   of  
Shipping,  Govt.  of  India  and  hence  are  not  changeable.  
 
3. If  any  false  /  incorrect  information  furnished  by  the  Applicant  is  detected  at  any  stage,  his/her  candidature  will  
not  be  considered  and  if  selected,  he/she  will  be  removed  from  the  training  course  and  the  entire  course  fees  
will  be  forfeited.  
 
4. Course  fees,  Advance  Fees,  Examination  fees  once  paid,  will  not  be  refunded,  partly  or  otherwise,  under  any  
circumstances.  
 
5. As   the   Applications   are   processed   by   a   computerised   system,   it   is   essential   that   the   application   be   forwarded  
strictly  in  accordance  with  the  prescribed  format.  
 
6. Duly   filled   in   Application   Form   should   have   one   photograph   pasted   and   Demand   Draft   attached.  
Originals/photocopies  of  certificates  etc.  should  not  be  sent  with  the  Application  Form.  
 
7. All  fields  in  the  Online  Application  Form  should  be  filled  with  correct  details  and  Application  number  should  be  
noted  by  the  candidate  for  all  future  reference.  
 
8. Candidates   should   possess   at   least   Twelve   (12)   recent   passport   size   photographs   (front   view)   and   these  
photographs  only  must  be  used  on  Application  Form,  Interview,  Medical  Examination,  training  etc.  Any  change  
of  photograph  will  disqualify  the  Candidate.  
 
9. Candidates,  at  the  time  of  reporting  to  the  institute  if  not  at  the  time  of  Interview,  will  be  required  to  produce  
original   copies   of   proof   of   age,   Degree   Certificate,   HSC   Certificate   or   equivalent,   SSC   Certificate   or   equivalent,  
where  applicable  from  Govt.  recognized  board/universities.

The  Offer  of  admission  for  Pre-­‐Sea  Training  and  Shipboard  Training  by  GES  shall  not  be  considered  as  guarantee  of  
employment  on  completion  of  such  training.  However,  in  the  event  of  GES  offering  employment  after  obtaining  the  
MEO   Class-­‐IV   Examination,   the   candidate   shall   agree   to   be   bound   to   accept   our   employment   and   serve   on   our  
vessels   for   a   period   of   three   years.   This   is   a   requirement   as   per   the   Gazette   Notification   S.O.2132   (E)   issued   on  
December  12,  2007  by  Govt.  of  India.
