My First Week

LORMA MEDICAL CENTER

PHYSICAL THERAPY INTERNSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

My internship provides a great deal of observation time in a real setting because in my

college courses, we focus more on basic concepts and the terms of physical therapy.
But with this internship, I was able handle different cases I am able to apply those basic
concepts and terms to real-life situations. In addition, because physical therapy requires
a regular exercise regimen and I am at the practice consistently every Monday to
Friday. I was able to observe the same patients and note their progress as they regain
flexibility, strength, and range of motion after injury, inflammation, and/or surgery. I am
also learning how to safely, reliably, and efficiently perform treatment that is appropriate
for the patient’s status and plan of care for patients. I also learned how to make different
PT notes every after treatment and to develop and maintain effective, respectful working
relationships with professional colleagues, peers, patients, families and the general
public. And my important learning in this week was to optimize time management
strategies so I can meet productivity standards and complete documentation in a timely
manner.
