INTRODUCTION

INTERNSHIP ANNALYSES

JOB DESCRIPTION :

I had completed one month’s summer internship in Cantronics office equipment (p) ltd.
Company , Dahisar. The HR manager Mr. Shaylesh Sawant told me about companies rules &
regulations and brief History of company and also told me about basic operations about their
departments. During my internship I worked in all the departments like I started from label
dept. , barcode dept. , packaging dept. , TTR and FPR dept. , cartridges dept., coating dept.,
chemical dept., .

I took exposure of all this departments and try to understand how the process being
carried out in this departments. Meanwhile the head of departments and other employees help me
a lot. To explain how the things reach one point to another. How the raw material turns to be a
finished product.

Learning:
During my internship period of 4 weeks , I found some positive as well negative aspects of the
company. As Cantronics is concerned , the aspects that I found in the company are mention
below:

Positive learning aspects:

 In my one month internship I got to know about many new aspects of business, factories
working conditions, also I come across employees satisfaction level, what are the things
that are very essential to conduct such kind of business.

 First of all I learn the working of a company , its structure, decision-making authority and
how they implement the polices and strategies, like during my internship they previously
measuring daily production but now a days they ask for actual production from each
department daily. For the purpose of costing and to get accurate daily record of
production.
8

 I learn the ethics, punctuality, dedication, goal commitment and self control in a real
sense.

 How the employees of company can perform specific tasks.

- I learn how we can follow-up the customer and make them loyal to us.

 I came to know about the specification of different variants of products.

 I learn what are the documents required to maintain for taking order, for dispatchment,
for billing ,etc.

 I learn how to deal with employees by using my interpersonal skills and communication
skill.

Negative learning aspects:

 Top management is not treating good to their worker of factory.

 Due to this lack nests, dissatisfaction occurs between workers.

 Not compensating the valuable regular customers.

 Lack of efficient work in the documentation process leads to re-work.

 Salary structure is very poor from the point of view of the employees.

Challenges and department description

As this internship is my practical experience and was a chance to prove myself and knowledge .
following are the challenges that I face successfully achieve and some my wishes that I would
know these things before going there. As I rotated in many departments so I tell challenges that I
faced in each department.

Label department:
As firstly I engaged in this department for quite a long period . so by that time I found many
things lacking in myself to fulfill given duties. As there are worker are least bother about how
much material or Jumbos they used and what quantity they are producing daily that all record
have to collect every hour. If suppose if you missed to collect or if any worker missed that
receipt then it will lead to wrong entry into Daily Production Sheet(DPS).

Packaging Department:
In this department I used to go and was helping to do a packaging of rolls, cartridges, Ribbons.
But here also I found myself little down because that whole packaging department is dominated
by women employees. And also some techniques of packaging are very hard to learn because
their you have to look after accurate measurement.

Chemical department and coating department:

This department is very important from companies point of view. Here they produce C65
chemical that need to roll over the paper. So that normal paper gets the coating on it. So the
paper turn to be thermal and this thermal paper used for further process. Here I found employees
are to less in that department.

TTR & FPR:

Thermal transfer ribbon and fax pay roll. TTR work as a splitter. It cuts the big big jumbo’s in
the size of 2-3 inch of widths. TTR machines produces around 1600-1700 pcs. Per day.
Each machines required 2 people to run. From here rolls sent to packaging department.
10

Cartridge department:
Only this department manufactured or re-manufactured cartridges. Production of cartridges is
fully depend on manpower availability on each working day . it produces around 180 catridges
per day and max to max 200 pcs. . department consist of 50 workers. Here the large part of raw
material comes from USA and JAPAN. This goods are fast moving , to get the delivery of
products clients have to give order 75 days before. I found only drawback for this department is
that , if raw material is not available then production is going to stop till raw material will make
available.

Barcode department :
This department is head by Mery lopes. They has 13 years of experience in the company.
40 Employees working in that department. This many bunch of people able to give 4000pcs. Per
day production. They has zero present defact in their material, and also have record of not
rejecting any single sample.
