COLOR MATCHING PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN VARIOUS
INDUSTRIES ESPECIALLY IN TEXTILE, FASHION, LEATHER,
COSMETIC, PAINT AND PRINTING INDUSTRIES. MOST SHADES
CAN BE PRODUCED BY USE OF TRICHROMATIC COLOURS OF
YELLOW, RED AND BLUE COMPONENT COLOURS. IN
PRACTICE, DYES OR COLORS OF INTERMEDIATE SHADES
CLOSE IN SHADE TO THE SHADE PATTERN ARE ALSO USED
FOR IMPROVING THE REPRODUCIBILITY AND BRILLIANT
COLORS FOR BRIGHT SHADES.
THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE BEHAVIOR OF
TRICHROMATIC COLOURS IN A TRICHROMATIC COMBINATION
IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR A COLOURIST.
CONVENTIONAL:
This is the manual color matching system. In which we don’t
need any device or machine for color matching (e.g. like
Data Color).
Procedure:
First we cut the piece of fabric from original sample and
give it to laboratory then they find out which type of dye is
use in original sample and also find out the shade and its
amount in G/L or L/L, then according to the dye which is use
in the original sample we make solution like 1%,2%,3% and
dye a new piece of fabric through this solution. After the
dyeing is complete we match our dyed fabric to the original
sample. If we get our required shade then we forward the
recipe to the production department and if we not get our
required shade then we again repeat the same procedure by
changing the different parameters.
SEMI AUTOMATIC:
This is a semi automatic method in which we use
Data Color.
PROCEDURE:
We just put the fabric in data color and it gives 3-
7 recipes. Then we take almost three recipes which is near
to the original sample. Then we dye the fabric using these
recipes and try our best to get our required shade in 2-3
trials. When we get our required shade then we forward that
recipe to the production department.
In data color we put our original sample so by using the
sample data color make standard graph and after dyeing we
match our fabric graph with the standard graph. If graph is
not match then data color gives us a new recipe.
NON-CONVENTIONAL/AUTOMATIC:
It is the latest process by which we detect
the color with the help of Data Color and Spectrometer.
PROCEDURE:
we take the fabric of 2.5*2.5cm and put the fabric
in 100ml-300ml water and add anti migrating agent. when
fabric is dip in the solution then 25% of dye is leave the
fabric. Here we use spectrometer in that manner that we dip
the spectrometer in the solution so that spectrometer gives
us a recipe and we find out how much color is use in fabric
