Retarding Performance: Gross Weight

This document contains two graphs that compare the performance of a machine with just an automatic retarder (ARC) versus with both an automatic retarder and engine brake on a 450m and 600m long grade. The y-axis of the graphs show gross weight in tons and the x-axis shows speed in km/h. The graphs illustrate that on longer grades, the combination of ARC and engine brake allows the machine to operate at a higher gross weight and speed compared to just the ARC alone.
