Constitution of By-Laws
DATE: June 5, 2018
Article I.—Name
The name of this organization shall be Dance Troupe.
Article II.—Purpose
The Dance Troupe , serving the Cebu City National Science High School, is committed to
perform with the best that they can and until their hearts content with the execution.
The organization accomplishes its mission by:
Practicing monthly for a dance presentation.
Screening the dance moves and choreography.
Choose songs that are scholarly.
Showcasing the types of dances in variety and not just sticking to 1.
Giving their best at every performance and taking all the chances.
Article III. — Membership
A. Members:
1. The members of this organization shall be currently enrolled students at the
Cebu City National Science High School.
2. They become members by passing the 3- stages audition .
B. Privileges and Responsibilities of Membership:
1. Voting: Each member is entitled to one vote.
2. Privileges: Each member shall be entitled to all services of the organization.
3. Participation: Each member shall be entitled to participate in all organizational
events.
4. Responsibilities: Each member shall be entitled to join practices and
presentations.
Article IV. — Membership Meetings
A. The meetings of the membership will be held after dismissal. Notification of any meeting
shall be made 1 week before prior to the said meeting.
B. The Chairman /Chancellor/Head/President of the organization may call other meetings.
C. Quorum: At all meetings of the organization, a quorum shall consist one-half of the
members. (quorum = one half + 1)
Article V. — Officers
A. Titles:
The Dance Troupe shall have the following officers elected from the current membership:
1. Chairman/Chancellor/Head/President
2. Vice-Chairman
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Auditor
6. Public Information Officer
7. Peace Officer
8. Year Representatives
9. Secretariat
10. Secretary for Ways and Means
11. Secretary for Special Projects
12. Secretary for Community Outreach
13. Adviser/Coach
B. Qualifications:
1. The Chairman /Chancellor/Head/President shall have been the vice-chancellor
to the organization in the previous year and serve throughout the School Year
2018 - 2019.
2. The other officers must be current members of the organization.
C. Duties of Officers:
1. The Chairman /Chancellor/Head/President shall preside at all meetings and be
responsible for training, monitoring, and motivating the members of the club. He/
She shall supervise his/her members.
2. The Vice-Chairman shall act in the absence of the
Chairman /Chancellor/Head/President in all capacities as listed above and shall
assist in conducting the business of the council.
3. The Secretary shall maintain the records of the council and sits close to the
presiding officer during meetings to assist and take notes.
4. The Treasurer shall keep an accurate record of all money received and disbursed.
5. The Auditor shall gather and analyze various types of financial information and
documents for the organization/club.
6. The Public Information Officer shall have a widespread communication among
the members for easy information dissemination.
7. The Peace Officer shall retain the concord and amity atmosphere among the
members of the council.
8. The Year Representatives shall disseminate information among their batch mates
for further instructions and guidelines for the specific event.
9. The Secretariat shall be entrusted with administrative duties, maintaining records,
and overseeing or performing secretarial duties.
10. The Secretary for Ways and Means shall realize and act innovative ways on how
to raise funds for the fiscal needs of the organization/ club.
11. The Secretary for Special Projects shall organize projects that may help the
student body and institution improve at its finest.
12. The Secretary for Community Outreach shall build connection to the public. It
may either be through outreach programs such as feeding program, bundles of
joy, etc.
D. Terms of Office:
1. Officers shall be elected annually by the members at one of the regular meetings.
2. Each officer shall take office on the first day of the school year and serve a one-
year term.
3. The newly appointed Chairman will then take over for the next school year and
build a new batch of officers.
E. Vacancies and Removal:
1. A vacancy of the Chairman/Chancellor/Head/President shall be filled by the Vice-
Chairman unless he or she is unable to serve, at which time the vacancy shall be
filled by election of the members by a majority of votes cast. A vacancy in the
office of the Vice-Chairman shall be left vacant with the Chairman delegating the
duties of that position.
2. Any officer, including the Chairman/Chancellor/Head/President, may be removed
from office or suspended from office by a vote of two-thirds of the members at a
regular meeting. Removal or suspension may be with or without cause. The
person under consideration shall be given an opportunity to be heard at the
meeting with sufficient notice of the proposed removal or suspension, the person
under consideration shall not be counted in determining the presence of a quorum
not whether the required two-thirds vote has been obtained. Upon a vote of
removal or suspension of the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman shall preside at the
meeting.
Article VI.—Committees
A. The Chairman/President/Chancellor/Head, subject to the approval of the organization,
shall appoint such standing, special, or ad hoc committees as may be required by the
bylaws, as he or she finds necessary. Committee Chairpersons shall be appointed by and
responsible to the Chairman.
B. A vacancy in a Committee Chairperson position shall be filled by appointment of the
Chairman/Chancellor of the organization with input from the outgoing Committee
Chairperson.
Article VII.—Parliamentary Authority
The rules contained in the revised CCNSHS Handbook shall govern the organization in all cases
to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with the bylaws or the special
rules of order of the organization.
Article VIII.—School Policies
This organization shall abide by all applicable policies instituted by the Cebu City National
Science High School.
Article IX. –Amendments
These bylaws may be amended by a vote of two-thirds of the members of the organization
present at any regular meeting or at a special meeting called for that purpose. The membership
shall be notified of adopted bylaw amendments by the most feasible means.
